PaxLair, in the Ether (PaxLair Times) – April 7, 2013– by Winfield – With only 29 minutes remaining in a 1-month Kickstarter campaign, Portalarium’s Shroud of the Avatar project reached $2 million (US) in pledges from the public backing the project. This is DOUBLE their planned goal of $1 M. Congratulations!!! More than 600 people were watching the LIVE video feed from Portalarium HQs in Austin, TX where Richard Garriott (Lord British) and his team stayed up all night reaching out to players and interested people throughout the world.
Several PaxLair citizens and allies are backing the project at various levels up through the Lord of the Manor level, a level that offers a City Castle and Keeps on a large Island.
Portalarium defined “stretch goals” for reaching pledge levels beyond the originally sought $1 M. At $2 M, they will attempt to add the following to the SotA game:
$2M: Players Take over the World!!!
- Castles & Keeps effectively a new “Town Type”, where the structure is ownable by players or guilds
- Guilds can declare war against other guilds
- Guilds can declare as full time PVP
- Guilds can earn a guild house and guild bank
- Guild Tabbard/Shield/Flags useable by all members
- Minimum of 5 castle types added to the game
- Castle merchants with unique merchandise
- Castle defense scenarios for most castles which can be played offline as well as online
