WITHIN THE REALM - September 25, 2006

Previously, Selcius the Astronomer, relayed information about rifts appearing throughout our lands.  Selcius is located near the telescope on Moonglow Isle in Trammel.  He requested help in locating and recording the sextant coordinates of each rift.  Once all the rifts were located and their coordinates recorded, he named each rift.  This led Selcius to disclose the password and information leading to the ninth rift.  When saying the password, "roclasmpy", by the Ancient Stone in Ilshenar, it took you inside the Virtue Chamber, where we defeated the Void Shadow.  A robed figure is appearing and disappearing near each rift.

Pieces of blackrock were appearing throughout our lands.  Many people collected the blackrock pieces, in hopes of figuring out how to use them.  Many Legendary Mages managed to blow themselves to smithereens by casting the Armageddon spell over these tiny pieces of blackrock.  Some speculate that there might be other uses for blackrock.  Keep experimenting.

Last week's runic anagram was, "A grim ascendance or odd rumors", which translated to "Armageddon comes, Ricardo runs".  Last week's news article posted on BNN, titled:  "Wanted!  Ricardo, Alive and for Questioning".  The Sheriff of Trinsic asked people to search for Ricardo's lair and find a landmark nearby, so the lair could be found.  He also asked for a key, or password, that might allow entry into the lair.  The Sheriff said to feel free to take anything, once you gained entry into the lair.

Hope, a bowyer in Yew, spilled the beans about Ricardo's lair.  Southeast of the entrance to the Dungeon Destard, you will find Ricardo's lair tucked into the mountains.  The landmark nearby was an "old burned tree".  Hope said the password to enter the lair was "rbmnqa".  Only the first person, or persons, who entered, were able to take Ricardo's goods.  There were three things that could be taken, "a pilfered painting", a hat called, "Ricardo's roof", and a pair of shoes.

This week's anagram is, "Indict evaded by secret", which translates to, "Distracted by evidence".  This weeks BNN article is, "Elven Prosecutor Assigned to Ricardo Trial".  Casca, an elf from Heartwood, will be the prosecutor at Ricardo's upcoming trial.  Casca can be found at the Court of Truth in Yew.  Casca is asking for anyone with evidence, concerning Ricardo's crimes, to come forward and speak with him.  Ricardo is being held in the Trinsic jail, awaiting extradition.

The evidence being gathered to prosecute Ricardo, consists of some lockpicks monogrammed with the letter R, inside the Nujel'm Palace, and a camp inside the Terathan Keep.  Take note of these items and report your findings back to Casca at the Court of Truth in Yew.  Some have speculated that Ricardo is being framed, because it is very sloppy work for a Legendary thief to leave so much incriminating evidence behind. More information can be found here.
