Mazrim Taim introduced himself as one of the Knights of Darkness [KOD].

Viceroy of Dragons Watch Appointment Ceremony

Mayor Winfield appointed NANOC as the Viceroy of Dragons Watch in a ceremony at the beginning of the meeting.  Mayor Winfield explained a little about Dragons Watch and NANOC.  After the Mayor accepted NANOC's oath of office and NANOC received the appointment, Viceroy NANOC told the audience that Dragons Watch's renewal is continuing.  Dragons Watch is one of the five cities of PaxLair, each led by a Viceroy who makes decisions and leads the city.  The cities are usually a combination of citizen guilds, citizens, allies, and friends involved in many shops, events, quests, culture, lore, and legends.

PaxLair City, Felucca Report 

Oda Nobunga reported on behalf of Viceroy DutchessVanHorn.  The Twin towers are being redecorated.  There is also some housing in the East Meadow open for those looking for a place to live in PaxLair City.  PaxLair City is also planning to hold another Friday Fight Night.  The date will be announced on the PaxLair Calendar and in various news reports.  Alliances are still being formed in PaxLair City with reputable guilds to provide security, entertainment, and community relations.

PaxOku, Tokuno Report

Viceory Visago reported that a few public projects are underway, such as an aquarium in PaxOku.  People will be able to view a variety of fish.  There will be public viewing areas for the tanks of fish.  The PaxkratOku Auction has changed times this week to 7:45 PM ET.  The BLT is hosting an event to aid in the miners' attempts to dig up ore.  A group of adventurers will be gathered to protect the miners from certain attacks near Wind.  The Blue Guard of PaxOku has begun to operate in PaxOku again.  Several of the Blue Guard traveled to fight the Ophidians in Vesper.  PaxOku also has a new allied guild called "Without Fear" led by Talon Torell.  PaxOku is now looking at the resources it produces in an attempt to figure out what can be exported in bluk to other towns interested in establishing firm trade routes.  Finally, the NAV guild has acquired a building inside PaxOku on the south side of town near the Ellindale Embassy.

Talon Torell introduced the guild "Without Fear" as a family guild of hunters and crafters.  His guild looks forward to events in the PaxLair Community.

Gareth stated there is a new artifact.  Lady Nara and a few other miners were digging in the mountains near PaxOku when for the second time the floor of the mine gave way.  All four miners sunk into an underground cavern, which turned out to be a marble room.  Within the room, they found artifacts, gold, and chests.  The room was hidden.  They also found another piece of light.  The cavern is currently kept secret.  There was also a two story white statue, one of the biggest artifacts in the Realm.  The PaxOku miners looted everything out of the room.  The statue is on display in the crafters hall in PaxOku.   Dutchess said the treasure belongs to Jeane Lafitte, and comes with a curse.  Some wondered who this Jeane Lafitte is or was, and will start searching Sosarian legends and history.  Oda said only those finding a matching statue will be saved from the curse.  Gareth seemed to indicate the miners have no intention of finding the owner of the discovered property.

Dragons Watch, Felucca Report

Viceroy NANOC had no other news to report at this meeting.  It is reported that after the meeting, Mayor Winfield and Viceroy NANOC left to an undisclosed location to discuss ideas for Dragons Watch.  Later, Mayor Winfield was heard to say, "NANOC definitely has what it takes to be Viceroy of Dragons Watch.  I am very, very impressed."  The Mayor would not comment further.

Port Baldmor, Trammel Report

Commodore (Viceroy) Kerrs Holley stated that a few weeks ago a fellow pirate ship was found sunken out at sea.  After some investigating, the Pirates found out it was the Never More vessel.  The culprit behind the sinking was the infamous Leviathon.  Port Baldmor citizens tracked down the Leviathon and gutted it good and properly in hopes that Davey Jones will have mercy on the crew of the Never More.  On another topic, the Red Daggar Fleet is doing well with a few boats stationed near the Papua harbor; the ships are loaded with reserves for the combat forces against the Ophidians.  The Pirates are doing their part in the campaign since Savages won't trade their tribal berries until the Ophidians are destroyed or leave.  Finally, next week will be a beach party in Port Baldmor hosted by Eric the Red of [N.O.].

Eric the Red addressed the audience stating he and his wife Melody were happy to come to the PaxLair meeting in Dragons Watch.  Alyzia, one of their friends, also came to the meeting.  The Beach Party is called the "Sextant on the Beach" party, because after the party, the party-goers will use the sextants to find a lost treasure.  The Beach Party will be Friday, August 18, 2006 at 8 PM ET on the sandy shores of Port Baldmor.

Ministry of Defense Report

Minister of Defense Oda Nobunga reported Ophidians continue their attacks in the Realm.  PaxLair Forces [combined with the United Sosarian Forces] are doing their best to contain them, and it is working.  There is hope the elders of the Realm will come up with ways to send the Ophidians back to whence they came.  The defense structure of PaxLair continues with solid recruitment and experience.  On a personal note, Minister Oda stated there are many demands on his time given his position and status.  Much would not be accomplished if it were not for many people fighting along his side.  Grimlar Mithrax of PV is a special warrior and highly respected.  Exodus Lyonne is another such Paladin.  Firiel is one of the newest members of PV and has shown great courage and vigor in the field--well enough to be proud of.  All the achievements of the Defense of PaxLair are due to these kinds of people.

Additional Reports and Announcements

Elias of Arundel [KPD] gave warm saluations from the Keepers of Dawn.  KPD has recently constructed the Moonglow Consulate.  It is established on Verity Isle to build more unity for the Isle.  It is South of the Mage Shop along the road before one reaches Moonglow itself.  There will be a Consulate dedication ceremony in a few weeks.

Post-meeting Activity

Many people stayed after the meeting to meet new friends and old acquaintences.  Some talked about strategies against the Ophidians and other drank plenty of ale.

Nevyn D'Wyooren and Mayor Winfield stood on the balcony of the Dragons Watch City Hall in quiet discussion.  They looked out upon the bay while talking about the continued Ophidian attacks.  Nevyn D'Wyooren is the guildmaster of the Royal Britannian Guards [RBG] and one of the generals in the United Sosarian Forces.  They came to a conclusion there needs to be another Call for a Sosarian team to aid in conquest.  This time, there should be a Call for Knowledge to accompany the continual Call to Arms.  The Call for Knowledge will attempt to gather as many scholars and historians to investigate all that is known about the Ophidians, the reports on the Britannian News Network, and all other sources of knowledge and speculation. 

Nevyn and Winfield both agree there is more to this Ophidian situation than fighting a foe.  Nevyn attempted to use the captured Ophidian Orders from recent battles in a variety of ways and places--all with no success.  Finally, Nevyn suggested there is some credibility in conducting an extensive search of Ilshenar.  He said the RBG is already conducting a sector by sector search for anything unusual, but more forces need to be organized to help the search.  The search will need to be conducted in an organized and efficient manner, perhaps with a map annotated with searched areas and regular reports coming in from the field.
