DRAGONS WATCH, FELUCCA - July 11, 2006

The PaxLair-wide meeting was held for the first time in many, many months within the great historical city of Dragons Watch, Felucca.  Viceroy Benris [DWxC] established a new meeting hall in DW.  A rune to the meeting hall is on the steps of the Tea House in PaxOku.

About 20 people attended the meeting hearing reports and discussing defense against the Ophidians, an upcoming ceremony for a change in Viceroy of PaxOku, diplomatic missions underway, successful defenses of PaxLair cities, a caravan is planned, more guilds are to join PaxLair City Felucca, a tour of Dragons Watch after the meeting, and continued successes in PaxOku with crafters and auctions.

Introductions

Mayor Winfield opened the meeting asking for introductions from visitors and people who have not been at a meeting in a while.  The following introduced themselves:

Mayor's Report

Mayor Winfield announced he is forming a Diplomatic Team, already consisting of himself, former Mayor Minsk, and Fignut the Elder.  Anyone else interested in joining the team are welcome to talk to Mayor Winfield.  The Team will go to many places and seek out many guilds in the Realm to include Felucca.  They will even attempt to talk to the Ophidians if they can find an interpreter.

Viceroy Gareth will resign from being Viceroy of PaxOku at the next PaxLair meeting when nominated Viceroy Visago will take the reigns of PaxOku.  Viceroy Gareth is stepping down after one year of leading PaxOku. He steps down to allow others to be challenged and enjoy the position of leadership.  Gareth said new people bring new ideas.  Next week's meeting will be held in Port Baldmor, but the PaxOku ceremonies will take place at the end of the meeting in PaxOku.

Defense Report

Minister of Defense Oda Nobunga reported Ophidians are a pressing problem for the Realm.  While the threat is perhaps minimal now, the future is uncertain.  PaxLair Defenses are reaching out to the community of the Realm to work together and fight for those who can not take up arms.  Several thieves have been killed, all with names starting with an "R".  Lord Nevyn of RBG offered to host a large defense meeting in the RBG HQs for interested people throughout the shard.  The date and time will be announced.

Skirmishes in our PaxLair cities have reduced in recent weeks, probably due to the fact that Defense Forces are willing and able to defend the cities.

There is also a proposed caravan to Dungeon Khaldune.  Those interested in this adventure should contact Visago.  Others wanting to protect the caravan, talk to Minister Oda.  Nevyn stated that the Royal Britannian Guard will help protect.  The date of this caravan trip is to be announced.

PaxLair City Report

Oda Nobunga stated that PaxLair City is working on integrating some new guilds into the PaxLair City, such as the guilds Co5, ROME, and HK.

Dragons Watch Report

Viceroy Benris thanked everyone for attending the first meeting in DW for some time.  There will be a tour of DW following the PaxLair meeting tonight.  The new DW Tavern, called the Last Dragon, will have it's grand opening this coming Saturday.  John McBain is the proprietor.  It will feature an open-mic night.  Stories, songs, drunken chat of all kind.  Details will be published on the PaxLair Sky Page.

PaxOku Report

Viceroy Gareth stated a new Viceroy will be sworn in next week for PaxOku.  PaxOku also has a bit of a downtown form similar to Minoc, being a working city of smiths, tailors, bowyers, lumberjacks, miners, chefs, and tinkers.  PaxOku is still building up its crafters' nights.  Auction house will change owners soon, but auctions will continue.  The cemetary is completed in PaxOku, but another miner was found dead--a young lady--found in the water drained of blood with holes in her neck.
