Courageous warriors and mages recently battled in the outdoor PaxLair Arena behind the Mage Tower.  PaxLair City's Chancellor of Defense Oda Nobunga officiated the event while people lined up to either watch or await their turn to fight.

PaxLair law allows fighting in the PaxLair Arena; the sign post entering the arena says "Enter at ye own risk".  Fighting is not allowed in the city streets except for defensive and counter-offensive maneuvers.

"I haven't seen the PaxLair Arena used in a long time," one spectator said who limped from a previous injury.  "It sure reminds me of the old days.  Are those days coming back?" he asked with a distant look in his bloodshot eyes.
