PaxLair Website Goes Live
Written by Winfield, Old Man
IN THE ETHEREAL WORLD SUPPORTING PAXLAIR - On January 8, 2005, PaxLair published a new web site design for http://www.paxlair.com/site10/
that will hopefuly serve PaxLair and the growing community of friends
for a long time. The new site is a "content management system" where
several people can keep the site up to date with information. The site
provides an events calendar, a message board system with several
forums, a repository of community links, and a growing amount of
published information relevant to PaxLair, its government and citizens,
and more of the community at large.
Much information will
be added to this new web site from previous sites, old boards, and
locations around the ethereal world. PaxLair's goal is to bring all
relevant historical and active information into this one site. It may
take a few weeks or months to complete this task.
Over the years, there were numerous past PaxLair web site designs and locations. Since 1998, PaxLair had http://www.gogan.landlords.com/ (which no longer exists, but may be archived somewhere), http://www.chessienet.com/paxlair/ (still online but not updated since 2002), http://www.chessienet.com/paxlair/backup/news/ (a portion of a site prior to the last site; this site is currently broken and is being repaired for historical purposes), and http://www.paxlair.com/site10/indexold.htm (the last site before the current live site).
Of particular note is the site at http://www.paxlair.com/site10/indexold.htm.
Seeing the lack of web site maintenance in late 2002, Earl of PaxLair
took it upon himself to create this web site to keep information
flowing and archived. If it were not for Earl of PaxLair and Neo of
Lothlore during 2003-2004, PaxLair would have lost a great deal of
information. Such personal initiative shows the quality and dedication
of people in PaxLair.
As PaxLair enters its 8th year of existence, the government and
caretakers vow to make its ethereal presence stable and worthwhile.
PaxLair also continues its inter-city cooperation objectives to offer
information and linkage to other player communities. Watch for more
enhancements and information to this web site and also stay tuned to
the other wonderful sites of towns and guilds throughout the Realm.

Dragons Watch Wins at the Red Wolf Regatta
Reported by Neo Of Lothlore
GYLDENFELD, TRAMMEL - Captain Nemo and Team PaxLair were joined at this month's regatta by an ATD crew, led by Kegger and his wave cutting sloop.
The
course was Smuggler's Run, a route fabled for use by smugglers who
brought ore from Minoc to Cove to avoid taxation along Britannia's
roads. The race got underway shortly after we arrived at the Red
Wolf Cafe, and Kegger and myself were the first to get our boats in the
water and remained neck and neck throughout the entire course!
The
waters were tough with choppy waves created by a wind rolling through
the Minoc inlet, but once we neared shore at the top of the continent
things started to smooth out. I lost sight of Kegger from
Southwest streatch that brought us near Vesper, but picked him up in
the distance just as we made the tack into Loch Lake.
In the end Kegger of ATD managed to hit the docks first, followed by myself, Neo Of Lothlore with Anton and crew just behind!
Thanks to the Red Wolf for another great race!
