PAXLAIR STATEHOOD - September 24, 2007

On Sep 20th, Statehood Minister of Defense Cryptkeeper quietly announced a covert mission to resupply Gargoyle City (Ilshenar) with armour and equipment.  Gypsy blacksmiths have failed to resupply Gargoyle City in recent weeks.

Five people are called to volunteer for this important mission.  They are to deliver 50 Chainmail Coifs, 100 Bucklers, 75 Daggers, 200 Cutlasses to Wiselem and Inwis in Gargoyle City as soon as possible.  In order to gain confidence from the Gargoyles and to elude suspicion, two members of the team MUST BE crafters; all team members must be wearing no more than Grand Master-created armour to not attract attention in the area.

Success of this mission will open trade routes between the PaxLair Statehood and Gargoyle City.

Full details of the mission may be found and discussed here.

INFORMAL MEETING REPORT - August 14, 2007

We had a PaxLair Weekly meeting PaxLair City.

I gathered from the meeting there are 3 options to try to solve the PaxOku Well of Souls problem:

1. Mayor Katherine still trying to assemble mediums to attempt to contact Mayor Gareth inside the Well.

2. Spring of Courage water may be available via the underground Stream of Courage connected to Lake Hammerfell (old city of Haven on Felucca, south of Trinsic). Idea is to caravan/ship the water to PaxOku if chemists can determine the Stream of Courage still flows into Lake Hammerfell.

3. Speak to the Evil Gareth. He was at the meeting last night and wanted neutral humans to sacrifice themselves into the Well of Souls in PaxOku. I hear some people went to PaxOku and performed some sort of ritual, but I don't know what happened.

Oh, and Mayor Katherine re-instated the PaxOku Decree Banning Paladins again since a Paladin was hurt by the waters in PaxOku recently.

We covered a lot in the meeting last night, to include new developments in PaxLair City and Dragons Watch.

Lenora will have a grand opening of the new Pizzeria in PaxLair City at 10 PM ET next Tuesday after the PaxLair meeting (August 21). Justine will be finding a location for a new pub as well, for "dancing" to include feo-orcies dancing. Mayor Ga'kuct anticipates there may be more "clompin" in PaxLair City soon so he is looking for those wanting to "clomp". Evacuees from PaxOku are welcome in PaxLair City at the Paladins Fortress in the East Meadow.

Several more buildings were constructed in Dragons Watch with several new members in the past couple of weeks. The elves are still preparing water in massive quantities to ship to PaxOku to help with the water shortage there.

I hope this information helps.

Governor Winfield Declares PaxOku Decree Banning Paladins Lawful Print

MAGE TOWER, PAXLAIR CITY, PAXLAIR STATEHOOD - August 6, 2007

Governor Winfield declares the PaxOku Decree of Banning Paladins from the city as lawful.

Source: UO Stratics Chesapeake News, Reported By Lady Katherine

This evening's hearing regarding the PaxOku decree banning paladins from that city and its possible conflict with the PaxLair Statehood Neutrality Law was held at the Mages Tower in PaxLair City, Felucca. Governor Winfield himself largely directed this third session of the hearing, asking clarifying questions of the two main parties involved: Mayor NANOC of Dragons Watch, also a paladin; and Mayor Gareth of PaxOku.

Governor Winfield asked Mayor Gareth some more questions about the vision of the well being polluted that led him to issue the decree. Perhaps the most shocking part of the hearing was when the Sheriff of PaxOku, Lady CaT, demonstrated that the water from the PaxOku well reacted violently with a Luna Lance. This was a primary reason of concern that led to the Mayor banning paladins from the city, to ensure the protection of the water supply.

Highly Controversial PaxLair Statehood Law Hearing to Reach Conclusion Soon Print
Written by Winfield_Pax
Saturday, 04 August 2007

MAGE TOWER, PAXLAIR CITY - PaxLair Statehood, August 4, 2007

The highly controversial PaxLair Statehood Hearing of Law has gathered the attention of many people throughout the Realm.  Not only are citizens of the Statehood attending, but the Hearing has the special interest of the Council of Mages, Council of Sin, and Verity Syndicate.

This is a hearing of a PaxOku Decree being questioned as to its lawfulness under PaxLair Statehood Law.  This is not a trial of guilt or criminal act.  Mayor Gareth of PaxOku issued a decree through his Sheriff CaT on July 10, 2007, to ban all paladins from PaxOku.  Mayor Nanoc of Dragons Watch brought the PaxOku Decree into lawful question to Governor Winfield on the basis that is allegedly violates the PaxLair Statehood Neutrality Law.

Governor Winfield held two one-hour hearings thus far on July 23 and August 1 with an expected final third hearing to be held on August 6 starting at 9 PM ET with assembly at 8:30 PM ET.  The hearings are held at the Mage Tower in PaxLair City, the capital building of the PaxLair Statehood.

The PaxOku Decree Banning Paladins is as follows:

I, Gareth Lightenburg, Mayor of PaxOku, on July 10, 2007, do hereby Decree that For the security of the city of PaxOku and its citizens, all Paladins are to be removed and kept out of PaxOku City until such time as the government of PaxOku can identify the threat to the water supply and secure it in PaxOku city.

The PaxLair Statehood Law of Neutrality is as follows:

PaxLair is a Community of Neutrality. People or groups coming to PaxLair in the spirit of Neutrality will not be attacked, stolen from or banned unless they violate PaxLair's laws, are considered untrustworthy, or have been declared criminals of the Community.

Governor Winfield allowed free testimony to be given at the first two hearings, starting each time with Mayors Gareth and Nanoc, and then from the audience.  Governor Winfield stated the next hearing "must focus on the issues leading to the Decree. Not things after the decree."

Winfield said he is most interested in hearing testimony about what led up to the PaxOku Decree, most specifically the "succinct reasoning and evidence leading to such an abruptly mandated Decree against Paladins. If all the testimony is a vision from a Seer, and a Luna Lance, then I can deal with that. I can attempt a ruling based on that reasoning. If there is potential the Book of Wrong had influence here, I would like to know that before I make a ruling."  It is expected the Governor will do most of the questioning in the final hearing on August 6.

PAXLAIR CITY, FELUCCA - PAXLAIR STATEHOOD - August 4, 2007

A PaxOku Decree was brought to the PaxLair Statehood's Governor's attention as potentially violating PaxLair Statehood Law, specifically the Neutrality Law, or others.  These are as follows:

(Statehood) NEUTRALITY LAW:  PaxLair is a Community of Neutrality. People or groups coming to PaxLair in the spirit of Neutrality will not be attacked, stolen from or banned unless they violate PaxLair's laws, are considered untrustworthy, or have been declared criminals of the Community.

(PaxOku) PAXOKU DECREE BANNING PALADINS: I, Gareth Lightenburg, Mayor of PaxOku, on July 10, 2007, do hereby Decree that For the security of the city of PaxOku and its citizens, all Paladins are to be removed and kept out of PaxOku City until such time as the government of PaxOku can identify the threat to the water supply and secure it in PaxOku city.

The following is a long, but important summary and testimony regarding a Hearing of Law in the PaxLair Statehood. So far, two days of hearings have been held -- July 25 and August 1, 2007.  A third and final hearing is scheduled for Monday, August 6, 2007.

The following transcript was heard on Wednesday, August 1, 2007.  It is entered into record by the Governor's Office.

Winfield: Welcome once again to our Hearing of Law. We held a hearing a week ago and my purpose here as Governor is to hear testimony about the PaxOku Decree in question, and PaxLair Laws. I am asked to rule on whether the PaxOku Decree is lawful under Statehood law. I will first ask Mayor Gareth to make his opening statement tonight, Then Mayor Nanoc. We will focus on issues of law, not crimes. This is not a trial. After the opening statements, Mayor Gareth will testify with more information in question and answer to Nanoc. Then Nanoc will testify similarly. Each may call witnesses or references in their Questioning period. The opening statements should be short and point to the question of law.

MAGE TOWER, PAXLAIR CITY - PAXLAIR STATEHOOD - July 25, 2007

The following transcript was heard on Wednesday, July 25, 2007.  It is entered into record by the Governor's Office.

Winfield: Welcome everyone to our PaxLair Statehood Capital.  Today we have a Hearing of Law.  PaxLair's Laws are for all the cities of our Statehood as you know.  They are listed in your books.
Winmere: *nods*
Winfield: The governor and each mayor may make more laws and have specific decrees as they see fit in order to efficiently operate the statehood and the cities. No decree or city law, though, may violate a statehood law. Tonight, we will hear Nanoc claim that a decree by Mayor Gareth in PaxOku has made a decree for that city that is not lawful under the Statehood Law of Neutrality.

King of Elves Disturbed about Mayor Ga'kuct's Declaration to Kill Elves Print

Sunday, 15 April 2007

PaxLair City - April 14, 2007

Oberon [LoR], King of the Elves, and Lady Autumn [LoR] visited Governor Winfield today in his Mage Tower office in PaxLair City, Felucca.  King Oberon was very concerned about Mayor Ga'kuct's recent Krak un Krydey comment about killing all Elves in the Realm.  The Governor listened yet did not seem very concerned.  Within the PaxLair Statehood, Dragons Watch has a high population of Elves, so there may be problems between that city and PaxLair City.

Mayor Ga'kuct's statement in the latest Krak un Krydey was:

5)When the Orcs do take over the rest of the realm, what race or class will you eliminate first?

-Ilidz ogh kurze. Demz skurge ogh da uzg. Wud demz poyntee eerz agh demz nubhosh neymz. Ib eberiteeng guz lyk da skeme, demz wylz bi clompid BEFUR da orkiez tak ober da uzg.

PaxLair Mage Tower: 1998 - 2007 Print

This was discovered to have been an April Fools prank put on by Neo Of Lothlore.  The Mage Tower still stands, and is one of the most securely held IGM blessings on Chesapeake; owned as well by Winfield himself.

PAXLAIR MAGE TOWER
1998 - 2007

PAXLAIR CITY, FELUCCA - Sad news from PaxLair City today, as the most well-known building in PaxLair met a historic end.  The PaxLair Mage Tower (often known as the Order Tower, or Paladin Tower) was in danger of collapsing and ultimately fell in the early hours of the morning.  Many attempts were made by Governor Winfield to save the ailing structure which first went into decay about a week ago, but unfortunately the owner could not be contacted in time.

This is not the first such incident where a historic building in PaxLair has fallen:  in autumn 2006, Luigi's Pizzeria met a fateful end, and not soon after that, the former Saloon Plot was noticed to be in a decay cycle.  The Saloon Plot however was saved for certain decay in the nick of time.

Citizens suspect that possibly the house owner had given up on the building, which in the past year had been redecorated and only recently declared the official government building of the PaxLair Statehood.

More news to come on this topic in the coming days..

Statehood Officials Tight-lipped about Orcish Mayor of PaxLair City Print
Written by Winfield_Pax
Sunday, 11 March 2007

PAXOKU (TOKUNO), PAXLAIR STATEHOOD - March 11, 2007

UO Stratics Reporter Sebrina met with Governor Winfield in the Silent Rose Library in PaxOku today.  She asked the Governor for an interview with him and Mayor Ga'kuct of PaxLair City regarding the appointment of an Orc to the highest position in the historic PaxLair City on Felucca.

Instead of an immediate interview, Governor Winfield referred Sebrina to a set of books in the Silent Rose Library bookcase #8 containing the Orcish Collection from many, many years ago.  These books provide information about the Orcs in PaxLair City and from times before PaxLair was built.  The Governor may be interviewed in the near future.

The Governor advised all peoples that are interested in what is happening in PaxLair City, Felucca, to personally read these books to understand what has happened and may happen in the future.

As reported in the PaxOku Times this week, there is secrecy about why Ga'kuct was appointed as the Mayor of PaxLair City.  Many PaxLair government officials are tight-lipped about the appointment.  When questioned, they simply say, "read the history, think upon it, and know that some things have happened in the past few months worth noting."

The last time Governor, then Mayor, Winfield appointed an Orc to a high position was in 1999 when he made Ruglug one of his Chancellors of PaxLair.  This was reported on the Britannian News Network (BNN) in 2000.

Reconnaissance Run into Sanctuary - Guardians Gate's Battle Plan in Development Print

DEFENSE FORTRESS, PAXLAIR CITY (FELUCCA), PAXLAIR and SANCTUARY DUNGEON - January 27, 2007

PaxLair citizens and Wat the Tyler from Guardians Gate discussed Wat's battle plan for securing the Sanctuary dungeon at a future date.  Guardians Gate has not yet scheduled a mission date, but should be in the next week or two.  Citizens assembled a rapid response team right after the meeting to do a reconnaissance run into Sanctuary.  The team met heavy resistance in the dungeon.  Teamwork was essential to save lives and make progress.  There were many deaths of both enemy and friendly forces.

A battle plan is definitely needed to achieve Wat's objectives to find information in Sanctuary.  PaxLair understands that Guardians Gate will establish the plan and coordinate it with PaxLair's Minister of Defense Cross MacLeod and other defense leaders.  PaxLair is willing to provide forces for Guardians Gate's led mission.
