Lady Katherine given Emergency Government Power Print
Written by Oku News Network

PAXOKU, TOKUNO - August 8, 2007

Last night Mayor Gareth was killed by the well and his soul sucked into the well of souls or the underground water river...we are unsure. In government the powers would fall to the Deputy Mayor. Problem being the Deputy Mayor is missing. Now it falls onto Miss Kayi the City Council Chairwoman. Another problem is she just came back from a long trip and has no clue on what is going on. She gave her emergency government power to Lady Katherine. Chairwoman of the VirtueWind District.

The following has been issued from the Emergency Mayoral Power of Lady Katherine.

-The DukeLoth district is to be evacuated.
-The VirtueWind district is to be evacauted.

All displaced citizens are to report to the Teahouse and Silent Rose Library for a place to stay.

Also uncharted water way has been found going to the eastern side of PaxOku.

PaxOku Government Cover Up Revealed!!! Print
Written by Oku News Network
Tuesday, 07 August 2007

Neira and Lord Gareth were seen at the now almost completely destroyed well speaking. It would seem the newly dug well may have a slight problem...It was said that when the digging began they may have damaged the blackrock area that lines the well of souls in PaxOku.

The well of souls may take in souls but, must remain balanced. For if you sacrifice to many virtuous people the well will become Anti Virtue. If you sacrifice to many Anti virtuous people it will become virtue. The well itself must always have balance so it may remain neutral.

Alas since they damaged the lineing of the well of souls all of the Paladins that were exictued within PaxOku the well took in. It is my beliefe that the reason the well and now water supply in the city reacts with such a destructive force would be, the well does not need anymore Paladin souls. Now the water supply being connected to the well of souls has spread the effect over time down the supply line.

The now explosive supply has reached the entire VoidQueen district of PaxOku. It is now flowing to the DukeLoth District and soon the VirtueWind district. It has infected the Angelic's Crafters hall. The tailors layed Goza mats down to cover up the disgusting smelling water.

We have infact found a flow chart of this well supply in the Silent Rose Library. The Red shows where it flows and the green shows where it has already reached.

From what the Mayor has released to us tonight. The following will be announced at tonights Pax meeting.

1. The VoidQueen District is under a complete evacuation.

2. DukeLoth District under a voluntary evacuation. This may change within the next ten hours as we watch the flow.

3. VirtueWind District under a voluntary evacuation.

4. Blue Light District under warning.

The well of souls has infact mixed with the water well below the city. We know how the well of souls reacts on it's own but, have never planned a senario to where it would be free to flow around the city and mix with water. Also with it being unbalanced we have not prepaired for that.

Governor Winfield Declares PaxOku Decree Banning Paladins Lawful Print

MAGE TOWER, PAXLAIR CITY, PAXLAIR STATEHOOD - August 6, 2007

Governor Winfield declares the PaxOku Decree of Banning Paladins from the city as lawful.

Source: UO Stratics Chesapeake News, Reported By Lady Katherine

This evening's hearing regarding the PaxOku decree banning paladins from that city and its possible conflict with the PaxLair Statehood Neutrality Law was held at the Mages Tower in PaxLair City, Felucca. Governor Winfield himself largely directed this third session of the hearing, asking clarifying questions of the two main parties involved: Mayor NANOC of Dragons Watch, also a paladin; and Mayor Gareth of PaxOku.

Governor Winfield asked Mayor Gareth some more questions about the vision of the well being polluted that led him to issue the decree. Perhaps the most shocking part of the hearing was when the Sheriff of PaxOku, Lady CaT, demonstrated that the water from the PaxOku well reacted violently with a Luna Lance. This was a primary reason of concern that led to the Mayor banning paladins from the city, to ensure the protection of the water supply.

Dark Forces begin to gather in PaxOku awaiting decision Print
Written by Oku News Network
Monday, 06 August 2007

A Shadowlord has called fourth his forces awaiting the decision to come to PaxOku. The language they speak is hard to understand but, the words seemed harsh and cold.

Vampires and Necromancers have also been seen in the area around the city. It would seem from what I can see from under the steps of the Mayor Office in PaxOku, that this seems to be a large group gathering.

Stealthing seems to be one thing these groups do well. When all is quiet they appear. During a very loud and epic speech the only words I could make out were: Paladin Corruption, Souls, wells and also a new home.

I do have so many questions. WHy the gathering? What will happen if the law is over turned or if it is kept? Is this a fighting force to oppose the statehood laws? Or have they just found a new home?

Shadowlords appear in PaxOku prior to the final ruling
about the PaxOku Decree banning Paladins from the city

Highly Controversial PaxLair Statehood Law Hearing to Reach Conclusion Soon Print
Written by Winfield_Pax
Saturday, 04 August 2007

MAGE TOWER, PAXLAIR CITY - PaxLair Statehood, August 4, 2007

The highly controversial PaxLair Statehood Hearing of Law has gathered the attention of many people throughout the Realm.  Not only are citizens of the Statehood attending, but the Hearing has the special interest of the Council of Mages, Council of Sin, and Verity Syndicate.

This is a hearing of a PaxOku Decree being questioned as to its lawfulness under PaxLair Statehood Law.  This is not a trial of guilt or criminal act.  Mayor Gareth of PaxOku issued a decree through his Sheriff CaT on July 10, 2007, to ban all paladins from PaxOku.  Mayor Nanoc of Dragons Watch brought the PaxOku Decree into lawful question to Governor Winfield on the basis that is allegedly violates the PaxLair Statehood Neutrality Law.

Governor Winfield held two one-hour hearings thus far on July 23 and August 1 with an expected final third hearing to be held on August 6 starting at 9 PM ET with assembly at 8:30 PM ET.  The hearings are held at the Mage Tower in PaxLair City, the capital building of the PaxLair Statehood.

The PaxOku Decree Banning Paladins is as follows:

I, Gareth Lightenburg, Mayor of PaxOku, on July 10, 2007, do hereby Decree that For the security of the city of PaxOku and its citizens, all Paladins are to be removed and kept out of PaxOku City until such time as the government of PaxOku can identify the threat to the water supply and secure it in PaxOku city.

The PaxLair Statehood Law of Neutrality is as follows:

PaxLair is a Community of Neutrality. People or groups coming to PaxLair in the spirit of Neutrality will not be attacked, stolen from or banned unless they violate PaxLair's laws, are considered untrustworthy, or have been declared criminals of the Community.

Governor Winfield allowed free testimony to be given at the first two hearings, starting each time with Mayors Gareth and Nanoc, and then from the audience.  Governor Winfield stated the next hearing "must focus on the issues leading to the Decree. Not things after the decree."

Winfield said he is most interested in hearing testimony about what led up to the PaxOku Decree, most specifically the "succinct reasoning and evidence leading to such an abruptly mandated Decree against Paladins. If all the testimony is a vision from a Seer, and a Luna Lance, then I can deal with that. I can attempt a ruling based on that reasoning. If there is potential the Book of Wrong had influence here, I would like to know that before I make a ruling."  It is expected the Governor will do most of the questioning in the final hearing on August 6.

PAXLAIR CITY, FELUCCA - PAXLAIR STATEHOOD - August 4, 2007

A PaxOku Decree was brought to the PaxLair Statehood's Governor's attention as potentially violating PaxLair Statehood Law, specifically the Neutrality Law, or others.  These are as follows:

(Statehood) NEUTRALITY LAW:  PaxLair is a Community of Neutrality. People or groups coming to PaxLair in the spirit of Neutrality will not be attacked, stolen from or banned unless they violate PaxLair's laws, are considered untrustworthy, or have been declared criminals of the Community.

(PaxOku) PAXOKU DECREE BANNING PALADINS: I, Gareth Lightenburg, Mayor of PaxOku, on July 10, 2007, do hereby Decree that For the security of the city of PaxOku and its citizens, all Paladins are to be removed and kept out of PaxOku City until such time as the government of PaxOku can identify the threat to the water supply and secure it in PaxOku city.

The following is a long, but important summary and testimony regarding a Hearing of Law in the PaxLair Statehood. So far, two days of hearings have been held -- July 25 and August 1, 2007.  A third and final hearing is scheduled for Monday, August 6, 2007.

Winfield: Welcome once again to our Hearing of Law. We held a hearing a week ago and my purpose here as Governor is to hear testimony about the PaxOku Decree in question, and PaxLair Laws. I am asked to rule on whether the PaxOku Decree is lawful under Statehood law. I will first ask Mayor Gareth to make his opening statement tonight, Then Mayor Nanoc. We will focus on issues of law, not crimes. This is not a trial. After the opening statements, Mayor Gareth will testify with more information in question and answer to Nanoc. Then Nanoc will testify similarly. Each may call witnesses or references in their Questioning period. The opening statements should be short and point to the question of law.

MAGE TOWER, PAXLAIR CITY - PAXLAIR STATEHOOD - July 25, 2007

The following transcript was heard on Wednesday, July 25, 2007.  It is entered into record by the Governor's Office.

Winfield: Welcome everyone to our PaxLair Statehood Capital.  Today we have a Hearing of Law.  PaxLair's Laws are for all the cities of our Statehood as you know.  They are listed in your books.
Winmere: *nods*
Winfield: The governor and each mayor may make more laws and have specific decrees as they see fit in order to efficiently operate the statehood and the cities. No decree or city law, though, may violate a statehood law. Tonight, we will hear Nanoc claim that a decree by Mayor Gareth in PaxOku has made a decree for that city that is not lawful under the Statehood Law of Neutrality.

Paladins Die in PaxOku - Mayoral Decree in Question Print

PAXOKU, TOKUNO, PAXLAIR STATEHOOD - July 15, 2007

Nine paladins were killed in PaxOku yesterday. It is not clear who killed them, but the reason is clear.  PaxOku Sheriff CaT announced at the July 10th PaxLair Statehood meeting that Mayor Gareth of PaxOku issued a Mayoral decree banning paladins from PaxOku.  The Mayor re-affirmed the decree yesterday after these killings.  He said paladins broke the "No Paladin Law" in PaxOku and were killed by the his orders.

After the paladin deaths, Mayor NANOC and Deputy Mayor Phoenix from Dragons Watch replaced paladin guards and collected the fallen in PaxOku.  The recovery and re-enforcement effort went without skirmish.

Paladin Cross McLeod of PaxLair City was outraged at the decree.  He sarcastically stated at the July 10th meeting, "Sure, a NO paladins policy is OK, but not a NO orcs policy" referring to orcs running PaxLair City.

The incident has called into question the legalities of Mayor Gareth's decree and the actions of paladins in PaxOku.

Elven Library of Courage turned into Orcish Shaman Hut Print
Written by Winfield_Pax

PAXLAIR CITY, FELUCCA - May 8, 2007

In another bold move by Mayor Ga'kuct through his policy of PaxLair City reconstruction, orcs built an Orcish Shaman Hut where the Library of Courage once stood behind the outdoor arena.

Ga'kuct said he won the building from the elves in a gambling game of cards.  According to Ga'kuct, elves attempted to cheat at the card game with their elven sight.  Ga'kuct said he then distracted the elves and also cheated.  Upon his victory, Ga'kuct immediately threw the elves into the street and threatened to call the orcish guard if they did not leave the area quickly.

Elves built the Library of Courage about a year ago and displayed books about PaxLair, particularly on Felucca. It is not known what happened to the books from the Library of Courage.  They are either in secret elven storage or the orcs burned the books.

This same location was used in early PaxLair days as the PaxLair Saloon and was "blessed" by the gods for the community.  In later years, the blessings were removed at the request of the proprietor so a multi-story saloon could be created.  In time, elves moved into the city and established the Library of Courage.

Hinotori use to own the Lucky Fox temple in PaxOku for those that have been around for too long. The house also has a pet training area which has already been tested out by Lord Gareth. From what I am told it is one of the most advanced training areas in the world.

Bake Kitsuns spotted around town now more then ever. With Ryo and Hinotori back in the city they seem to be less shy now. PaxOku government asks that you please do not feed them. They are wild animals and could take your arm off.

The Orc Massacre

Proof has been discovered in Dragon's Watch that Elves are torturing and then murdering innocent Orcs.

Klug da Stu Makr and Kar'nokz were on their way into Dragon's Watch to attempt to make a peaceful resolution with the Evil Elves and to "and to share knowledge and explore cultural differences through learning and understanding", until the Orcs caught wind of a stench, one that could only be emitted from decaying Orc bodies. They followed the smell and discovered a massacre of Orcish remains on top of one of the local establishments. Multiple Orcish helms and Orcish bones were scattered about the place as well as a whip, which may have been used in torture. The remains appeared to have been boiled and had all the meat removed, possibly for some sort of fiendish Elven dish, and the bones kept as trophies, with the helms as their crowns.

Homeless Bob

The Orcs' war against the homeless has sadly taken its first victim: the snaga hut (slave house) of John Duke.

A homeless person commonly seen sneaking around PaxLair City, eluding capture and torture by the Orcs, by the name of 'Homeless Bob' has taken residence in the recently established Snaga Hut, next to the Ladies of the Lair. "I talked to him a few times," stated John Duke "I tried to report him but every time the Orcs came he was gone. He's almost as good as me when it comes to hiding and stealthing."

"I wasn't too worried about him at first." he continued "but then he started sleeping in the woods outside my hut, slowly moving forward, until he was on my front porch. I still wasn't too concerned since I only need a very small space and it was still really out doors. So I didn't report it. But that all soon changed as I came back to my little hut for supplies and noticed it had been put into serious dismay as well as a message was left on the board stating 'Hello I have decided to squat here on your front porch. Squatters rights say I own this'."
