Drunk at the Tea House | PAXOKU, TOKUNO - January 1, 2006
People of PaxLair arrived at the Tea House in PaxOku rather randomly tonight to offer their fine ales and wine. We even had plenty of wine imported from Baldmor Port by Kerrs Holley [DAGR], the pirate. Viceroy Gareth said he was trying to establish some laws in PaxOku but was having a hard time since everyone was drunk today.
Mayor Winfield sipped on a vintage Magincia Pinot 103 brought by Kerrs Holley while Tatania shouted out a New Years message that she heard from the Time Lord.
All is well in PaxOku with many friends. All look forward to a great year to come for the entire Realm.
Oh, the Soggy Barnacle will be open in Baldmor on Tuesday, January 3rd, for a wild time with the Pirates. Don't miss it! It starts at 7 PM ET and lasts, well, until the last keg is empty! A rune is just left of the steps at the Tea House, right of the Lamp Post.

Raphael the Monk
| PAXOKU, TOKUNO - January 3, 2006  The zany monks of PaxOku are at it again!
This
evening a monk was spotted trying to meditate in cat form on the roof
of the new PaxOku Post Office. Reports from spies in PaxOku
suggest that the monks are planning some sort of humorous attack on the
city. What'll it be? A war of wits at the Town
Center? Or a comedy ritual at the BLT? These half-wit
roof-walkers are also known for their deadly magery skill and spell
accuracy. Our reporter, himself was the latest victim of the
monks' wrath.
When will it end?
When will PaxOku be spared of the curse of the monks?
The monks must be stopped before they attack our funny bones!
Aaaaa! |

PAXOKU, Tokuno - January 8, 2006
PaxLair Cartographers recently completed a detailed map of PaxOku at Viceroy Gareth's request. The map covers a very broad area so PaxOku city planners may visualize the growth and continued construction in the area.
PaxOku, January 8, 2006
The cartographers also used powerful magic to allow the viewer to use a new spell called "Zoomify". Using this spell, the viewer can look closely at any place in PaxOku and the surrounding area.
The full map using the Zoomify Spell is located on the PaxOku main government page.

PAXLAIR, Chesapeake Shard - January 10, 2006
This Thursday night (January 12, 9 PM ET) we will once again be venturing into the Gauntlet of Dungeon Doom. We will be meeting at the Skara Brae Community Center in trammel and gating over to Doom at 9pm est. Anyone interested in going should bring with them a Demon Slayer, Undead Slayer, and either 100% Fire/Cold weapon.
We will need at least 6 people in the group to be able to manage the Dark Father. He can be beaten with less, but it ends up being costly. If we are unable to get enough people to venture into the Gauntlet, then alternatively we will be exploring the Pyramid in Malas, south of Umbra. I have never been there, so can not say what we may find inside the pyramid besides undead.
Future Hunts:
Wednesday, Jan 18th. In celebration of the Pax Lair Anniversary we will be challenging a mighty foe. Our target for that evening will be the slaying of one paragon ancient wyrm. Please see the list of events in the OOC board for a detail of what to expect during the Pax Lair Anniversary celebrations.

PAXLAIR CITY, FELUCCA - January 14th, 2006 - Today, January
the 14th is Orc Holiday for those members of the Kaar Barashalu and
Olag Hai Orc Clans! Orc Holiday is an officially recognized
special day in the City of PaxLair by means of a Mayor's decree.
The Holiday began many moons ago in the year 2000 when digging began
at the ruins near the Order Tower in PaxLair by a human named
Caliphate. Much to his expectations and the glee of the orcs,
Caliphate found an ancient Orc Temple buried several feet below the
meadow of PaxLair and also located several artifacts that are to this
day on display at the PaxLair Memorial House.

PAXLAIR CITY, FELUCCA - January 13, 2006
Mayor Winfield opened PaxLair's 8th Anniversary with a Fight Night Tournament in PaxLair City. Eight fighters dueled for more than an hour to determine the Champion. After a grueling 5-minute final match between Merton (FwAe) and Morpheus ({X}), Merton came out victorious! All the results are here.
There were other key rounds with decided movement up in the List. One in particular was the fight between Pious Martyr and Stormgazer which had to move to a "sudden death" second match. In that case, after three minutes, both fighters were exactly tied in points with no death. The judge stepped in, stopped the match, and started the sudden death for an additional two minutes. Pious Martyr then won by points after two minutes.
Mayor Winfield had more to say about the Tournament and the Anniversary. |

Mayor Winfield announced earlier in the day that PaxLair's non-aggression laws were relaxed for a short period to see what guild could capture PaxLair. Guilds fought to get their guildmates into a specific seat, the "Captured Seat" in front of Luigi's Pizzeria.
The capture times were:

That cheque needs to be in your pocket!
This week PaxOku is holding a "name the road in PaxOku contest" as part of PaxLair's 8th Anniversary Celebration!
The
road (show below) runs along the island of Homare-Jima in Tokuno and

- Title the name of the book "PaxOku Road Contest" or "PaxLair PO Box #101".
- Head to the PaxLair Post Office in PaxOku

The polls will close at 9:00pm EST TONIGHT (January 19th) and the TOP 2 ones from each poll will be put in a ballot box in game at the PaxOku Post Office for all to vote on (so come out a vote!!!), and the winner will be announced at the end of the night, after the play at 10pm EST!
VOTE NOW!
Here are the 20 entries with full descriptions:
- The Warrior Way (by Visago) - Due to its connection to the nearby moongate, this route sees much traffic from errent warriors of many lands. It also sees many warrior monks who wander the area tending the shrines found along the road. They keep a steady presence due to the foul creatures that lurk in the nearby woods, keeping a helping hand ready for any warrior pilgrim who ventures too far in.
- Honor's Way (by Anonymous) - The island of Homare-Jima means Honor-place. PaxOku is on Homare-jima so it's only fitting that the road that passes through the city be called "Honor's Way".
- Thelorn Avenue (by Gareth) - The guild leader of The Band who first started PaxLair.
- Oku Road (by Kuja) - Pax Lane, it rhymes.
- PaxOku Boulevard (by Elijah Cross) - Ever is the boulevard patrolled and kept safe for those who wish to visit the several places of interest in this great city of PaxLair. From the great museum, the library, the auction house and the ever so delightful Blue Light Tavern (just to name a few)! Much traffic does this boulevard see in a day, getting those to where they are going in the great city of PaxOku!
- Via Incrementum (by Elijah Cross) - Meaning road of growth. Not long ago PaxOku was nothing but a thought in one person's mind. That thought evoked action which in turn involved others until PaxOku was born as an outpost of PaxLair. Even then the growth continued as Lord Gareth was named Viceroy and PaxOku soon after became established as a thriving town. Even today the city continues to grow as it bustles with traffic of all kinds, merchants, travelers, guardsman to protect the populace as well as Pax officials. Ever has PaxOku grown and it shall continue to grow for ages to come.
- Blue Light Parkway (by NANOC) - I chose this name because of the park-like setting at the moongate and to the tavern of PaxOku.
- Via Sanctimonia (by Elijah Cross) - Meaning Road of Virtue. Ever have the citizens of PaxLair been Virtuous and achieved mighty goals. A simple dirt road running through what has become a great city of PaxLair, for that is what it is, no? PaxOku was once a humble outpost in the wilds of Tokuno along a simple dirt path. Almost as a symbol of what PaxOku once was, the simple road remains. Reminding us all of the great accomplishments achieved by the great and Virtuous citizens of PaxLair.
- Alliance Lane (by Eli Mason) - PaxLair Alliance is a major part of PaxLair. Has a nice ring to it.
- Rock Road (by Eli Mason) - It's a road and there are rocks...
- Balance of Light Thoroughfare (by Eli Mason) - PaxLair has been about Balance. And the initials happen to be BLT.
- PaxTorra Drive (by Kerrs Holley) - Torra is associated with the 5 beginning books of the bible and you can interpret it many ways such as a new Pax beginning or the road from the beginning.
- Avenue of the Gods (by Kerrs Holley) - Could be fitting to commemmorate all the gods who helped the citizens piece the unique city of PaxLair so many years ago.
- The Road of Balance (by Kerrs Holley) - This name may be suiting for the lane because it has always been a constant struggle with the balance of good and evil within the realm!
- Seer Daemeon Way (by Kerrs Holley) - In honor of the sacrifice the Seer has made to return the spring of courage to its natural balance.
- Paxican Crossing (by Kerrs Holley) - This is just a bit of a silly name but a fun name, amusing yet true for many citizens of Pax cross the road every day, risking getting trampled by oncoming horses and traffic!
- Moongate Way (by Eli Mason) - Many roads are named for places they head toward heading away from major cities.
- Canopus Street (by Issac) - In the ancient city of Alexandria, Canopus Street was the main street of the magnificent city. It stood out in the city has the center of trade where people from all over the world could come and meet. Like Alexandria, PaxOku is a dignified city in our land that has trade (vendors) and other fine establishments. The road going through it takes you to each major part of the city just like Canopus Street did in the ancient city of Alexandria.
- Monk's Crossing (by Samuel Gestalt) - The Monks of PaxOku are crazy! They are always running through your house and trying to drive you crazy. And they always run across the road! One day of these days when they're Crossing, they're going to get hit by a horse!!
- Paco Taco Boulevard (by Paco Taco) - Paco Taco is cool.

A Monk Crosses "Monk's Crossing"
| PaxOku, Tokuno; January
23rd, 2006 -
Monk's Crossing
is the new name of the road that runs
along the island of Homare-Jima and through PaxOku! The name beat
out several other names including Alliance Way, Blue Light Parkway and
Paco Taco Boulevard in the Name the PaxOku Road Contest.
The
four final names with the most votes on the PaxLair.com site were put
to an additonal vote in a ballot box in PaxOku, but the end result of
that vote was overturned by Viceroy Gareth on Friday who elected to let
the PaxLair Government decide. At a quick meeting, eight members
of the PaxLair Government voted unanimously for Monk's Crossing, so
Viceroy Gareth decreed that the road would be named Monk's Crossing!
Monk's Crossing
gets its name from the many monks who run around PaxOku each day, often
crossing the road and paying visits to houses in the city. The
name is also a tribute to Monk, Lord of the Knights.
In the
coming weeks, architects and city planners for PaxOku will be
conducting a survey of the area and assigning house numbers to all of
the houses. The numbers will increase from west to east in yet
undecided increments, and will help visitors and citizens alike to find
houses easily. The house numbers will also be used by the PaxLair
Postal System.
Blue Lampposts
| The PaxOku government
also decided as a way to "show unity", each house on Monk's Crossing
will receive a free Blue Lamppost courtesy of the PaxOku
Treasury. There is also talk making it so all houses use the same
sign style.
As an honary token, the PaxOku Road can be known as "Paco Taco Boulevard" for slang.
Come for a walk on Monk's Crossing today! |

PaxOku, Tokuno; January 23rd, 2006 -
Monk's Crossing in
PaxOku was put to a good use last night. Citizens from PaxOku
literally built a house in the middle of the street. Ms.Lienae
constructed walls out of bookshelves, and a grobu fur was put as a
welcome mat in the doorway.
Sarberius Chases Dinner
|
The PaxOku Road was also put to good use. Sarberius chased a
chicken down the road, killed it and hauled it back to the house's
kitchen where it boiled in a pot of stew. Then Sphynx tried to
recruit everyone for her [Lucy] guild. But no one loved Lucy.
This morning the house decayed, but a new one will be constructed soon, somewhere down the road.

Although there was a frantic chase to recapture the troublesome duo, they managed to make their escape and their whereabouts are unknown. Sherlock Holmes and his deputy Detective Charity Di Shante, both of The PaxLair Constables [PaxC] gathered evidence throughout the evening and reported to Mayor later in the evening at the Knight's and Paladin's Keep in PaxOku.
Evidence for the following charges was reported to the Mayor: A set of books called the "Books of Truth" were found to be missing from Minister Jasper's Office in PaxOku, a set of the same books were found in Justine's pack and another set had been sold to Neo of Lothlore from a man who stated he bought them from a red haired girl.

Orin (in orange jumpsuit) is Jailed
| In PaxOku last night,
fugitive Orin Lightenburg, the mischievous son of Viceroy Gareth was
spotted by Paladin of Virtue members hiding in an evil tower in the

Paladins Victor Knightley, Oda Nobunga and
Elijah Cross easily made their way into the tower after Neo Of Lothlore
casted Ex Por on the shabbily-secured door. Orin was apprehended
and taken to the Hall of Justice in PaxGlacei (the new PaxLair outpost
in the snowy mountains of Malas) where he was locked in Cell #1, next
to his girlfriend, Justine de Fargo.
Sherlock Holmes was then
called to question Orin, but something strange happened. Orin
remarked that he was only a figment of everyone's imagination, broke
through the cell door and escaped into the crystal fens of Malas!
How did Orin escape? Is Queen Sara involved in this?

The first round of scrolls collected
| The Blue Light Tavern held a great event last night: CHAMP SPAWNS!!!
Over
20 scrolls were collected by a join team of PaxOku fighters and
citizens of ATD and Dragons Watch. In attendance were Freak Out
[ATD], Sarberius [PxK], Victor Knightley [PV], Lucy [Lucy], CryptKeeper
[TFP] and Oda Nobunga [PV].
Rumour was that the major spawn and
PvP guilds were busy doing a harrower in Despise, so the decision to
try to get off a few spawns was natural! And that decision paid
off as many scrolls were collected for the PaxOku Treasury.
A
total of three spawns were run. The first spawn was led by Lucy
and consisted of only PaxOku citizens, but the other two included
citizens of Dragons Watch and members of ATD.
A great night was had by all! |

Groundhog
| In a ceremony on Thursday morning in PaxOku, the PaxOku Groundhog emerged from his hole, took a look around him and...

Forecasters decided that because the PaxOku Groundhog actually saw

On
Wednesday night the Paxratoku Auction House and Vendor Mall switched
locations with the Playhouse and Observatory to the center of

Road with Plants
| A Civic Beautification Project started by Elijah Cross was dismantled by a stealthing thief on Thursday evening.
Defense
Minister Cross, who had grown several red pony tail palms, decided to
place the extra decorative items along the entire length of Monk's
Crossing, both on the north and south sides of the road.
The
project, which made the road stand out and look more important was
quickly thwarted by a thief when plants started going missing on
different sections of the road. Minister of Knowledge, Neo Of
Lothlore and Minister Cross were immediately baffled by what they saw
before them and decided to take up arms against those who might try to
remove the other plants.
Before long though, the entire length of
the planted-road was missing and the two Ministers sought to look in
many of PaxOku's buildings for traces of the red ponytail palms.
Guarding the Plants
| Astoundingly, 30 of the
plants were soon recovered after they were found inside the standing
room at the Post Office. The plants were quickly replaced on the
road and guarded by an additonal guard, Oda Nobunga. Then, within
seconds of their replacement, the plants began to vanish again! A
stealther was seen using the ninjitsu ability Shadowjump to move from
plant to plant.
In no time, the plants were again found inside a PaxOku building. This time: the Paladin Keep.
This madness continued for another hour before a book was found on the avenue.
Here is what was found in the book:
PaxOku
City Officials have still not been able to determine why this named
thief, Lazarus, decided to have a bit of fun and move the plants, but
there is belief that he may return someday! |

A SECRET WEAPONS TEST FACILITY SOMEWHERE IN THE REALM - February 6, 2006
This article has been cleared by PaxLair Security Magistrates.
Due to recent attacks in PaxLair, the PaxLair Minister of Defense contracted a special engineering team to develop a weapon designed to inflict devastating damage upon the enemy. The test of a "cannon" was successfully carried out by John Henry, Mega Mule, Nightly Wood, and Sarberius while the spectators sat safely in a well protected bunker.
Secret Cannon Test Fire
Note: this image was not altered in any manner
Paladins of Virtue, PaxOku, and PaxLair Defenses immediately ordered tens of these cannons. After the first deliveries, more cannons may be made for the public after careful security screening.
"I am confident all our cities of PaxLair will be safer once these deliveries are made," Mayor Winfield said after the test.
The secret weapons test facility is used for a variety of special testing, most of which can not be acknowledged.

OFFICE OF ODA NOBUNGA (GM OF PV), PAXLAIR - February 7, 2006
As some of you may have heard already, I have taken over GM responsibilities of Paladins of Virtue for Cross MacLeod and Elijah Cross. I hope you all are well and I am scheduling an organizational meeting for Monday the 20th ([President's Day]) at 8 PM ET at the Paladin Keep in Felucca. My goal is to gather so I can meet you all and we can discuss how we will move forward. I have sent pigeons to some of you with no response.
So, I must say that anyone who doesn't show up or at least send me a pigeon with a reason why they can't be there, will have to be removed from the guild. I apologize for this, but [I can't afford to have dormant accounts sold to unscrupulous people and have my guild mates killed by new people]. If you are out of commission for some reason, then I will gladly add you to guild when you get back.
In addition, I would like to have all who attend the PV meeting to follow up with an appearance at the PaxLair meeting at 9 PM ET. This is to show our support for PaxLair and let them know PV is still alive. I hope to hear back from all of you soon!
