Following the ceremonies, the people and visitors of PaxLair held a small reception in the PaxLair Saloon, where stories were told. Peaceful tension mounted, though, as the Caitiff visited the Saloon inquiring about the Tome of Automation.
Lady Rhyssand, Healer of Balance, was appointed to the position of Chancellor of PaxLair, thus becoming the first woman to serve as a spokesperson and confidant within the Mayor's Office. Chancellor Rhyssand's role is to aid the town in investigations of lore, legends, and history along with various other duties to help people within the PaxLair community and the realm. Chancellor Rhyssand joins the ranks of three other Chancellors who devote much time and counsel to the citizens, groups, and visitors of PaxLair. The other Chancellors are Mystarr, Tycho Veg, and Shen.
After Rhyssand stated her vowes to serve the community of PaxLair with commitment and balance to the efforts of all people; to aid the people on the Mayor's behalf; and to carry out her duties with the other chancellors, offering the Mayor counsel and guidance to move PaxLair forward, Mayor Winfield presented Rhyssand with a staff of PaxLair for her official duties and also a public decree.
Nevilar Que-tar was accepted as a PaxLair citizen after demonstrating his worthiness through the PaxLair Initiates program. Nevilar Que-tar was born into a lower class fishing family in Vesper. He barely knew his parents and was forced to take to the streets to survive in the lands. He took to an unlawful style of life and was caught one day trying to rob a man. This man did not punish him, but took him into his care and house. This man, Lord Balinor treated him like his son and taught him etiquette and the finer things in life. He inspired his love of music and interest in learning. Now, the 21 year old Nevilar Que-tar has come to us here in PaxLair to fulfill his own dreams and fortune. To this end he has worked many days and nights at the local saloon, offering patrons and weary travelers refreshment. He has come to be known as one who can lend a listening ear.
Barkeep Nevilar Que-tar swore his citizenship vows to Mayor Winfield which were: to abide by and uphold the laws of PaxLair; to aid fellow citizens and visitors in times of need; and to carry out his role in this town to the best of his ability. After Mayor Winfield touched the Staff of Seer Daemeon to Nevilar Que-tar's shoulder, a cleansing lightning bolt came down from the heavens. The Mayor also present to Nevilar Que-tar a decree granting him citizenship in PaxLair.
After the ceremonies, the recognized people, citizens, and visitors went to the PaxLair Saloon and served drinks and food by Kyleria Dawn and Nevilar Que-tar. Music was played and stories were told.
Of significance was the story of the Tome of Automation, a tome that is sought by the Caitiff and rumored to be held and protected by the citizens of Haven. The tome reveals great powers through the construction of various devices. The realm is on edge at present regarding this tome and its possible use to construct such devices. The story was amplified by coincidence through the visit by the Caitiff seeking information about the Tome of Automation. The Caitiff left PaxLair peacefully for the Town of Corwyn, to inquire within that town.
