This sounds like a lot of work. UO is just a game. Why should I be interested in this?

There are various people who have the vision of building a virtual community using the UO gaming environment. It is a challenge as well as extremely fun to work together (having judges, shopkeepers, barmaids, Knights, play actors, and much more--all in a city setting and beyond). The basis of the virtual community is fictional in nature, yet can present aspects found in a real community.

PaxLair is an effort to go beyond the main gaming aspects of the UO game and delve into the seriousness and playfulness of role-playing. Becoming involved in PaxLair, is an opportunity for people, old and young, to experience the dynamics of a community of people. The UO game adds an element of dealing with fictional situations and a mixture of realistic and fictional solutions. The city of PaxLair itself can be operated like nearly any real-life city. The main exception is everyone is a volunteer.
