PAXOKU, TOKUNO - November 22, 2006

PaxLair continued to experiment with and establish some of the most unique houses in the Realm.  In this case, Lady Sounder, the Minister of Activities for PaxLair, created one of the most interesting and functional houses ever seen.

The "PaxLair Activities Center" was designed as "A place where people can come in the Realm to find out what activities are going on in PaxLair.  It is like a Calendar, but totally in the Realm instead of in the Ether," Lady Sounder explained in a recent interview.

The PaxLair Activities Center is located on Homare-jima, Tokuno at coordinates: 94-23N 67-08W (368.550)

"There are 7 daily books for each day's activities.  These are updated whenever there is a change in the weekly activities.  These are for recurring and non-recurring events, so if there is a special event on Wednesday coming up, then the Wednesday book will show that special event."

A brief tour revealed the extremely well-thought-out functionality of using many house capabilities to offer a daily hub of activities and information.  In the building, besides the 7 books for each day's events, there was a messageboard cleaned each day and updated with the current day's activities.  This allowed people to add information, ask questions, and even comment afterwards about that day's events.  

Runes were also placed next to books of significant events allowing the traveler to easily get to nearly any particular event.
"Simply wonderful," Mayor Winfield said about the Activities Center. "We have always wanted a way to quickly and easily keep the people of the Realm informed of activities in our community.  Now, Lady Sounder has invented a way do just that!  Congratulations to Lady Sounder!"

People can therefore visit the PaxLair Activities Center daily and get the most current schedule of events.  They can also read the specifics about each event in detail, thus replacing the need for many other ethereal publishing of such detailed information.

"We have sought to be able to do literally everything in the Realm as a Community," the Mayor continued.  "Now we are another step closer to achieving that goal through the Activities Center."

The second floor offered a game room with darts, checkers, chess, and mahjong.  There were also pedestals for a game of trivia where a master states and answer in a particular category, and teams answer the answer with a question.  The third floor sported a small dueling pit for chicken fights and any other type of tamed animal fight.  The pit did not need to be large since the fights are basically one-on-one of beast versus beast.  Obviously, the stadium seats offered enough seating for most competitions held in the Realm.

Visit the PaxLair Activities Center often, in downtown PaxOku!  Visit daily and see the current events.  Stop relying on the information in the ether and rely on what people create and maintain themselves in the Realm through such a unique establishment.
