PAXLAIR- June 28, 1999 - Jhym

The lady Goldmoon and lord Kyle of the guard were wed this day, attended by many of Paxlair and other farther-flung areas; while the ceremony was beautiful as I understand, the bride was killed after the ceremony by one or more ruffians. Sir Kyle dealt with the fellow that I saw, though I do not know the full outcome of their duel. The fellow(s) made several new enemies this day, as folk friendly to the couple were at the ceremony and were not pleased at the interruption.

The CBR/Corwyn had attempted to bring refreshments for the reception, however they had taken the goodies to the Survival shop, and thus there was some confusion about where the reception was actually to be held. It seems one of the gods laid a table by Luigi's for folk to eat and drink as well, thus enhancing the confusion. Tis my understanding the lady SortsAngel was a bit upset as she'd looked forward to this for some time, and part of the food and tables laid out was stolen as well.

Later that night, I wandered back to Paxlair to see the library, when I beheld multiple new sights.

Seer Kristos' books are sitting upon the teacher's table in the library/classroom, and there are many new works laid about the tower in various rooms.

There is now a second tower beside the mage tower, with a large fountain placed between with seating. Upon the two towers are some mystical teleportation devices, which allow folk to fly betwixt them with a second's thought. Both towers have moongates that rush the user to the basement. The second tower was named the tower of Balance I believe. On the western side of the new tower was laid a stone square, the centre of which lay a perpetual flame in a stone pillar. Small benches were laid about the square, with a small batch of flowers as well. As the tower has appeared, my thought is that this square is part of some hinted at shrine. Hinted at I say? Well there are a group of books upon the mage tower roof that describe a shrine and the various tenets of balance. One must draw some conclusions, eh?

Also, it seems that a stableman has been added to the stables, such that you can now stable your horse in Paxlair while you wander the town. The stables are located behind the tower of balance, beside Luigi's famous pizzaria, and east of the Ladies of the Lair's tavern.

From all the bloodshed recently in Paxlair, one begins to wonder if the residents would like to take a vacation to a relaxing sea-side resort named Corwyn........
