PaxLair Weekly Publication Mayor Winfield in the Underworld? PaxOku has a new toy? Startling statements at the weekly PaxLair meeting? to find out more, be sure to read this issue of the PaxLair Times! The PaxLair Times -*-Words from our Mayor-*- Hail my friends, I recently returned from the Underworld on a strange trip with The Gatekeeper. Oh yes, he is still around. And yes it appears The Gatekeeper is a "he" as best I can tell. His voice is low and sometimes garbled with the sound of wind. He keeps his shroud pulled over his face so it is hard to see him clearly, but I think it is a "He". Anyway, my trip was adventurous and I am sworn to secrecy of what I specifically saw and did, as usual with The Gatekeeper. I can say that the misty places I went to were full of intrigue and mystery - Many things I did not comprehend. Many times light blinded me and darkness surrounded me. The Gatekeeper pontificated about Balance again. This gave me new appreciation for the struggles he goes through while we wander around in the Realm. We are sometimes oblivious to the good versus evil going on in our different lands and pubs. As we journied together, I had a sense of hope through images that flashed before me and through me. Hope of more fascinating times. Hope for the new people and old. Hope that one day again we would build to soaring heights, stemming off decay and corruption. I explained to The Gatekeeper about changes going on in PaxLair. How the cities are building and at times even becoming slightly embroiled against each other. He said he would watch our own struggles for balance in our cities of PaxLair City, PaxOku, Dragons Watch, Port Baldmor, and PaxLane. He seemed amused with us mortals. As The Gatekeeper brought me back to the surfaces of the Realm today, I had a sense of renewed hope and vision. He turned and said one last word to me: "Sagacity" Then he vanished. In a final whisper on the wind, The Gatekeeper told me to make sure people know he is just like you and me, doing what we can in his own way to make our Realm a better place. Yet he is just an apparition, a mist, and a glow in the direction of balance. If you see The Gatekeeper, do not be dismayed. He is certainly one with Sagacity. Dragonspeed, -*- Top News -*- With the help of Zento city workers and funds. PaxOku city has gotten a new toy! Communication between houses. On top of the viceroys office is a communication center. Ten houses will be hooked up the the broadcaster. This can be used for: A way to keep informed in your house in PaxOku city. The draw back is that only ten houses can be linked. We will select the most popular establishments to install them in. We also plan to do city links as well. For the viceroys and government officials to be able to keep in contact. A link between the citys so to say. Another new feature coming soon is "Fire Side Chat" If you wish to be apart of the show just let me know. I always need help. --*- The PaxLair-wide weekly meeting was held in PaxLair City, Felucca. Deputy Viceroy DutchessVanHorn ran the meeting with one of the largest attendances in the past several weeks. There were many newcomers to the one-hour meeting and introductions took about 20 minutes. Dutchess kept the meeting on track receiving reports from all the Viceroys of the PaxLair cities and towns. Some of the most startling statements came from Viceroy Darius (PaxLair City) and Viceroy Gareth (PaxOku). Darius stated that the PaxOku trade sanction was having no effect on PaxLair City. However, Darius said that such an action by PaxOku would not go un-noticed. Therefore, Darius declared that PaxLair City, Felucca would set up a toll at the PaxOku Moongate on Tokuno to help bring more funds into PaxLair City for growth. He said this was not an invasion of any sort into PaxOku. Viceroy Gareth was quick to respond to Viceroy Darius' plans by imposing a tax on his own establishments in PaxOku. The housing tax would help pay for the tolls. Gareth listed the individual buildings being taxed, and appeared to cover most buildings in PaxOku. The next meeting will be in PaxOku on Tuesday, April 11th at 9 PM ET. Fredrick Tin was called upon to fix the mailboxes for the Silent Rose after the remodeling was complete. Fredrick was grumbling as he worked and was heard to comment, "It's been months since anyone has used the mail. I'm considering generating some junk mail just so I don't lose my pension!" --*- Come by soon and see the new designs! --*- -&&- The Soggy Barnicles open on Tuesday and Friday 7pm est come share a drink with the pirates and enjoy the ocean beach view. -&&- The BLT of PaxOku is proud to present Luigi's Pizza Parlor inside!
