PENNED FROM THE DESK OF MAYOR WINFIELD - March 3, 2006 Hail my friends, The Chesapeake Olympics are coming to a close on Sunday. Throughout the events and competitions, we've seen a great number of people participate and rally together. We've also recently seen a small invasion of sorts. Many of us remember the Invasion of Britain a year ago. Now a smaller invasion occured through a gate near West Britain Bank in Trammel. Many Sosarians came to the call to combat the enemy. That small invasion has now stopped. What does this lead to? How should we react? Well we must be watchful in our Sosaria each day. We must alert our guilds, cities, and friends when something occurs. We must be prepared to respond quickly and communicate well. We can respond quickly and efficiently with a couple of quick steps. 1) alert Sosarians, 2) examine and test the threat, 3) report findings quickly to leaders of our community, 4) rally more forces and inform them of the threat and vulnerabilities, 5) form a quick battle plan while being a little patient, 6) then lead our forces into combat. There are many good leaders in Sosaria today - people who can organize teams quickly and get the job done. I encourage those leaders to step forward, organize, and lead their teams with other teams. That is the best way we can defeat such enemies quickly, if brute force does not do the job. Chesapeake Community Nights on Wednesday evenings are the best times to identify our leaders and envision strategies. So come to these short meetings in Skara Brae, Trammel each Wednesday. Will you be the next Captain to lead your squad into battle, synchronized with the reconnaissance squad? Let us prepare and train now before we are caught off guard.
