Note: Let's see if I get this right. Please critique this article if my explanation of settings is wrong.

It is fantastic to see the Stratics Chesapeake Calendar used more and more!  The calendar is just another messageboard, with moderator approval to add a calendar item.

Chesapeake players seem to run on "Eastern US Time" as a standard.  However, many events published in the Chesapeake Calendar are announced in the text as Eastern Time, but the event time automatically displayed on the Calendar are not coming out at the proper time.  In some cases, the event even appears on the Calendar on a different day.

What I do is set my Control Panel time setting to +3 offset so everything I see on the Stratics Forums is relative to Eastern Time.  If people set their settings to other time zones, then they need to make sure they enter a calendar event time for the time in THEIR time zone, not Eastern Time.

Offset
0 = Pacific time
+1 = Mountain time
+2 = Central time
+3 = Eastern Time

So if you are in Pacific Time Zone and you use 0 as your offset, and you are scheduling a 9 PM ET event, you have to put it on the calendar time selection as 6PM.  Then the times show up at the right time for all users, no matter what their time zone offset is set to.  For me, on Eastern Time Zone (+3), I then see your event at 9PM on the calendar.

If you are set to Mountain Time (+1), for a 9 PM ET event, make it 7 PM.

If you are in Central Time (+2), for a 9 PM ET event, make it 8 PM.

If you are in Eastern Time (+3), for a 9 PM ET event, make it 9 PM.
