PAXLAIR - May 15, 1999 - Winfield

Mayor Winfield stepped into the Mage Tower library and found Aeis Fen, the assassin Tirian had told him about the day before. Aeis Fen was studying various library books but snapped them shut before the Mayor could see their titles. Recalling his conversation with Tirian, Winfield cautiously approached the dark-robed assassin.

Winfield: Ah Aeis.

Winfield: I spoke to Tirian earlier.

Aeis Fen: Ah, I've had a busy day.

Winfield: You may have heard.

Aeis Fen: He did not mention it.

Aeis Fen: But I can imagine what he spoke of.

Winfield: *nods*

Winfield: Do you know your employers for that one task?

Aeis Fen: Aye, they have seen fit to reveal themselves to everyone.

Aeis Fen: They are the Dark.

Winfield: I see.

Aeis Fen: And my task has grown

Aeis Fen: I am to make an example of this town.

Aeis Fen: Crush their will

Aeis Fen: Make them a showcase of the power of the Dark.

Winfield: Do they continue to employ you?

Aeis Fen: Aye

Aeis Fen: But now I am driven by hatred of these people.

Winfield: Do you publicly acknowledge that feeling? Or is that dangerous for you?

Aeis Fen: I acknowledge, I shout it from the very top of this tower!
