PaxLair Naked Paintball

The classic game of Naked Paintball played at the PaxLair Twin Towers.

Locations:

- Pre-Game Show and Set-up - [optional] (30 minutes prior to Match Time) PaxLair Auditorium, Malas Outpost.
(any murderers will start and be set up at the Twin Towers)

- Naked Paintball Match - Twin Towers of PaxLair, Felucca.
East Tower = Mage / Order / Paladin Tower
West Tower = Chaos / Necromancer Tower

- Post-Game Show and Trophies - [optional] Mage/Paladin Tower, Felucca or PaxLair Auditorium, Malas Outpost.

Objective:  Two Teams fight until a certain number of kills have been reached.  Each Team is assigned to one of the Twin Towers.  Teams are made up of an even number of players (5-10 players each), with each Team having one non-combatant resurrect-or (the "Rezzor").  The number of kills necessary to win is stated before the match begins.

Preparing to play naked paintball:  First of all you have to get naked.  You cannot have anything in your backpack--no spell books of any kind, no newbie clothes, no mounts of any kind, nothing.  This goes for the Rezzor too.  Each player may be snooped.  Secure storage for your items will be limited; try to keep items in the bank.  Gates will be provided to various places before and after the match if needed.

Playing naked paintball:  Each Team is designated by colored red or blue robes that must be worn at all times.  Teams gather in their "Safe Room" on the first floor of their respective tower.  The Rezzor is given the decided-upon number of rez scrolls for rezzing.  Rezzors can ressurect with scrolls or bandages, but not rez beyond the pre-determined number of rezzes for the match.

HOW THE MATCH BASICALLY WORKS:

Weapons, Armour, and Jewelry are already scattered about the floors of both towers.  Team members can gather these loose items to fight the other team.  Battle continues until a team is dead and out of resurrection scrolls (or rezzed the the maximum number allowed).

The intention of starting with nothing is to even the PvP playing field a bit.  No Artifacts, no 70 70 70 70 70 armor, no spell macros, no uber quick faster casting mages.  Also, no one loses any of their own items.

Combat is allowed in all open areas in both towers except in the back room on the first floor, the team's Safe Room.  Movement between the Twin Towers is only allowed through the rooftop teleporters.  The doors are locked for the duration of the game.

If all the players on one team are dead, but they still have resurrection scrolls left (not yet at maximum number of rezzes), the Judge may order the other team back to their tower.  This allows a team to regroup after massive casualties.

No items can be insured.  Friends of the towers may not use anything in other chests or bags and may not lock any items down.

Scrolls!  No reagents.  There are various piles of scrolls (poison, cure, lightening, mindblast, greater heal, fireball, explosion, and energy bolt) in the team's Supply Bag in their Safe Room.

Resurrectors (Rezzors):  Non-combatant.  Will not be attacked.  Rezzors cannot leave the Safe Room on the first floor.  Rezzors can resurrect and heal Teammates inside the Safe Room using rez scrolls, bandages, and greater heal scrolls.  Rezzors will only be allowed to perform a pre-determined number of rezzes, per the type/duration of the match.  If the Rezzor resurrects via bandages, he/she will use some of the Team's supply of bandages.  If the Team runs out of bandages before the maximum number of rezzes are applied, too bad.  When all on the Team are dead, the other Team wins.

Spectators:  The only way to 'watch' the match as a spectator inside the towers is as a ghost.  Stay hidden and do not interfere or work with either team.  Interfering or helping the players will get you removed from the towers.

Self-Rezzing:  It is not possible to use insta-rez within a house, so this is not a problem.

Hiding, Stealthing, Stealing, and Looting:  Are allowed by or against anyone.  Stealing is not allowed inside the safe rooms.

More Safe Room Info:  Teams are not allowed in the other Team's Safe Room.  Teams can not fight through the Safe Room's door.  Camping the other team's Safe Room on the first floor is not allowed.

Other Game Info:  The rooms on the second and third floors are locked for the match.

No mage, chivalry, bushido, necromancy, or ninjitsu books allowed.  If chivalry is your character's only method for healing as a Rezzor, you can not be a rezzor.  If you are a combatant, you will have to rely on greater heal potions or have your teammates cross-heal you.

If, while cross-healing, someone gets killed and the cross-healer is able to rez them, the player being rezzed must "DECLINE" and go to the Safe Room to the Rezzor.

Everyone should flag off judges when possible.  If you get a murder count gump when you die, "DECLINE" it!  No murder counts!

NO whining or complaining about dying.  This is a PvP game and dying is part of it.

Winning:  A Team wins after the other Team is dead (except Rezzor) and all their rez scrolls are used up (or pre-determined maximum number of rezzes occurs).  A Team Captain can also forfeit/concede.  (Judges will not reveal how many Rez are left on each Team during the match.)

MORE DETAILS:

Setup Rules:

Prior to the Match, Judges scatter loose items over both towers.  Items are kept in plain view, and not hidden behind walls, stairs, and doors. All items are placed in 'open' areas on any floor except for inside Safe Rooms.

At the Pre-Game Show/Set-Up, the Teams select and announce one of their members as Team Captain and another as Rezzor (they should be different people, but not mandatory).

The two Judges give each Team member the appropriate colored (red or blue) death robe for their Team.  The Judges ensure Team members do not have anything except their colored death robe.

Each Judge rolls a pair of dice for their assigned Team.  The Team with the higher number chooses which of the Twin Towers (Paladin Tower [East] or Necromancer Tower [West]) they will use as their home-base.

All Team members then proceed to their Safe Room in their tower.  One Judge goes with each team.

Before the match starts, the Judge gives the Rezzor for the Team the appropriate number of Rez Scrolls.

The Match Begins:  When both teams are ready and in their Safe Rooms, the Judges will start the match by simultaneous dropping a Supply Bag in each Safe Room.  The Supply Bag consists of bandages, potions, scrolls, arrows, and bolts.  The Match is now underway and the clock is running!

The starting strategy is up to each Team.  The Teams can now leave the Safe Room, go upstairs, and even to the other tower (no one can go outside the towers, though).  Anyone can use the top floor teleporters and gates in either tower.  The Teams can quickly divide up the Supply Bag items in their Safe Room and/or go out and scavange items in either tower (remember that looting and stealing are allowed, so carry the resources wisely).  A Team might even do a fast attack on the other Team.

After the Match, all items are collected from the players for redistribution in a future Match.  There may be closing ceremonies, after which the death robes are collected and people are returned to other locations.

SUCCINCT LIST OF RULES FOR MATCH-TIME:

The following is the list of instructions the judge says to all players, or players verify they have read prior to the Match:

In this game, all players start out Naked; nothing at all on them.
The Judges can securely store anything you may have until after the match.
Each team will be given one supply bag at the start.
Loose items are scattered throughout the towers that you can use.

The objective is to kill the other team until they have done the
maximum number of rezzes allowed, and are dead
.
Scoring is done by the number of rezzes.

Each team is dressed in a different color robe and assigned to one of the two towers.
There are two Judges in golden robes. Do not kill them.
Red team is in the west tower, Blue team is in the east tower.
You must keep your colored robe on at all times.

Each team has a Safe Room on the first floor of their tower.

Each team has fighters and one Rezzor.

The Rezzor must stay in the team's Safe Room at all times.
You can not enter or "camp" the other team's Safe Room.
You can not rez anyone outside your Safe Room.
You can only be rezzed by your designated Rezzor.
You can not fight from or into either Safe Room through the door.
You can run into your Safe Room for protection.
You can equip in your Safe Room with safety.

You can kill anyone except the Rezzors and Judges.
You can "flag" off the Judges if convenient.
You can not give any murder counts.
You can loot any corpse.
You can cross-heal team members while in combat.
You can not rez anyone through cross-healing in the combat areas (cancel if rez screen appears).
You can steal from anyone, but not in the Safe Rooms.
You can hide and stealth.
You can use any loose items on the floors of either tower.
You can not insure items.
You can not lock down any items.
You can not have or use any spell-type books, not even the Rezzors.
You can not open any bags in the buildings except the Supply Bag in your Safe Room.

You can not go outside the towers, or you will be locked out.
(you have to die to return inside as a ghost; lost conns included)
You can not open the outside doors to let others in.
You can only cross between the towers via the roof teleporters.
(Judges excepted)
You can not use rooms inside the towers except the first floor room, your Safe Room.
You can use the Gate Teleporters on the roofs in either tower.

You can only have your team in your party for party-chat.
You can use voice chat, but only for your team members.
You can use one or more of your team members as a ghost(s) to do reconnaissance,
but not in the other team's Safe Room.

Specators must be ghosts and may not appear during the match.
Spectators may not assist any team via party or voice chat.

A few notes on Resurrection:

The Rezzor must be able to rez each player on the team.
There may be problems if the Rezzor is in another guild.
Rezzors, be certain you can "perform beneficial acts" on all members of your team.
We will not stop the match if you can not rez one of your team members.
If this happens, that member will be a ghost for the rest of the match.
If in doubt, test if you can perform beneficial acts in Felucca before match start.

For all team members, if you get a rez screen outside the Safe Room,
sometimes due to cross bandage healing before death,
you must cancel that rez screen and go to your Safe Room for a rez.
Again, only rez inside your Safe Room and the rezzes are counted.

FUTURE OPTIONS:

- add one mage spell book and 30 reagents of each type to Supply Bag.

- add certain wands to the Supply Bag.

- allow use of all rooms for combat, except the Safe Rooms.
