The Arcane Arts is a building designated for all things magical, and stands as a point of research for future magical discoveries.  It is a haven for mages, et al., to do reseach in peace and security.  Access to the interior will only be granted to those involved with the discovery of unknown applications for magics and recovery of lost knowledge, etc.  The building is not designed to be a repository of knowledge, but rather a place where it may be born or reborn.

The Barashalu Cemetery is a cemetery established and run by the Kaar Barashalu Orc clan [Orc]. The building is an homage to all Orcs who have lived in the land and are now living with honor with the War God. The cemetery is used to pay respects to their fallen comrades, and they do not take kindly to strangers treading on their most sacred of grounds, so all who are not an Orcish descendant should be wary when walking by, especially those of the Paladin nature.

The Blue Light Tavern is an establishment owned and operated by the [BLT] and [*Ni*] guilds, all being run by Gareth, Viceroy of PaxOku. The Tavern is a center place for activity and quests as it sits by the Tokuno Town Hall right on the road and is staffed by many PaxLair citizens, such as Dutchess VanHorn, Dark Mistress, Silent Star, and Kristen. The tavern is open to everyone and accepts all wanderers off the streets, so while in Tokuno, stop by for free food and drinks and meet a few of those that inhabit PaxOku.

The now Crumbling Building was at one time the center piece for Quests and Activities in PaxLair. Originally established in October of 1999 by future mayor Don Martin as a Casino and Quest Center, it operated Casino nights on a weekly basis as well as was a quest center for the town and for the guild of the Veiled Alliance [V*A].

After a bit of stagnation the building was then claimed by Ga'kuct and the Kaar Barashalu Orc Clan and made into their own and was a center for much activity as guilds from all over tried and take the Orc's new home. 

However in February of 2005, Queen Sara, in looking for a mystical chest, destroyed the building until it sits at the condition it is today. The building has continued to decay, even after Queen Sara was vanquished, and what lies within the Black Well is still a mystery.

The Defence Fortress stands on the land originally known as the Orc's Breath Tavern, a tavern owned and operated by the Orcs of PaxLair. The tavern was the first building ever placed in PaxLair and was initally a forge for PaxLair, until it was eventually claimed by the Orcs for their own personal use.

The tavern was home to many legendary PaxLair Orcs, too many to be named here, and was exclusively used by them, slaying any human that wandered in and demanding fees to any that wandered by.

In January of 2005, after being abandoned by the Orcs long ago, the Paladins of Virtue took control of the building and established the Defence Fortress, being on the road into PaxLair, and the only clear opening between PaxLair and the Valley, it is a very strategic location.

The PaxOku Dojo and Auction house is a building dedicated to fighting and trading. The building has a fully functioning dojo intended for all types of fighting styles as well as an auction area on the roof.

The Ebil Uruk Hut is located next to the IGM created Olag Hai Orc Fort, but due to the Olag Hai Clan disbanding it was claimed by the War God and given to the Kaar Barashalu Orcs.

The War God also built this building, from the finest twigs and Ogre dung, and gave it to the Kaar Barashalu Orcs. The Orcs now use the building as their home base and will defend it against intruders and trespassers, although they occasionally allow visitors near the fort during celebrations (such as celebrating the War God) or when proper tribute is given.

The Followers of Armageddon are a group of Necromancers who have bound together to spite the Paladins of Virtue. This building is their home base while in Malas, although they also control the Necromancer Tower in PaxLair, Felucca, where the [F_A] guild stone is located.

Their guild leader (Zog) was once human, but killed in a mysterious accident (or possibly on purpose). The rotting corpse of Zog now wanders around; spreading plague and disease everywhere he goes.

The H-J Gate Rune Libarary, is a public Rune Library East of the Homare-jima Moongate. The building and the runebooks are open to the public and available for use by any and all who pass by. The owner encourages hunting parties to meet there with seating on the second floor, and regular visitors by offering goods outside.

Klug da Stu Makr is an Orc of the Kaar Barashalu Clan and does the Clan's cooking, being a Grandmaster Chef. Before Klug came along, there was much strife within the clan, as they were unable to find a good meal. The food that was cooked by the gruntees was always burned or not cooked at all. Not until Klug came did the Orcs finally get to eat a meal that they didn't later vomit up.

Because of Klug's unique talents, he is highly regarded on the same level as a Shaman, and is the creator and keeper of some of the most secret orcish recipes.

The Ladies of the Lair was established in April of 1999, a tavern destined for greatness, it became one of the staples of PaxLair and one of the most visited establishments in the land.

The Ladies of the Lair was established by NightStorm and Cyndra Koltos and run by a crew of all female bartenders who called themselves "The Ladies of the Lair", which was also founded by NightStorm. The establishment rose to great heights in popularity with hundreds of people visiting it weekly and commonly a center of activity as it was one of the few truly neutral buildings of the time, allowing the entrance of even the most villainous murderers of PaxLair.

In less than a year, the tavern became one of the most popular places in PaxLair and became blessed by the Gods in November of 1999, only seven months after its creation.

The building still stands today, in its original form and can be used by any person looking to host parties or get togethers. Just see the "Read more..." (below) for contact information.

The Lucky Fox Temple was built in May of 2005 by Lord of Nightmares when land near the Kitsune Woods became available. It is a recent structure there and the smell of paint still lingers inside. 

The Temple is ran by the Kitsune Bi (Fox), a small group who roleplays oriental shape changers though they do not limit it to foxes. They are a mostly good group though like all kitsune can be very unpredictable at times. The guild was established around March of 2003 and has remained fairly small with a few coming and leaving. 

The Temple was established as a place for the kitsune to come to worship Inari the god of foxes and rice. The lower level is the Temple itself. It is open to all people and races who wish to leave an offering for Inari. There is a bell to ring above the alter to announce your sacrifice to the god. The upper level is simple lodging for the caretaker.

There may be some changes to the building in the future as Kitsune Bi likes to rebuild every so often. It shall remain a temple to Inari no matter what incarnation the building takes.

The tower is physically connected to its sister tower, the Necromancers Tower, to its west via teleporters on the roof.  It also has a unique blue gate on the roof taking the person directly inside the front door on the first floor.  These features were added by the 'gods' in 1998 as PaxLair became one of the bustling communities on the Chesapeake Shard.

On November 11, 1998, Lord British (Richard Garriott) personally visited this Tower, bestowed honor on the PaxLair community and mounted a plaque above the main doors reading "Proclamation of Distinction By His Royal Majesty Lord British".

The PaxLair Mayor's Office is located in the Eastern section of PaxOku, just South of the road. It's main purpose is as the personal office for the Mayor of PaxLair, Winfield, and is meant for smaller meetings, such as questions for the mayor, propositions, and general issues. Due to its small size, larger meetings will take place in other locations, such as the Mayor's Office in Felucca.

This building is the ideal location to find Mayor Winfield when he is in PaxOku.

The Mythndale Embassy is a building designated as the home building for PaxLair's sister city, Mythndale. All meetings within PaxLair that pertain to Mythndale may take place in this building or any citizen in Mythndale can use this building in any nature they desire, anything from protection against those who wander Felucca to simply resting their feet.

The Necromancer's Tower exists to help balance PaxLair between good and evil.  This tower has long been the location where evil dwells, most recently the Followers of Armageddon [F A].  Here is where evil perform their séances receiving energy from the nearby Flame Monument outside and from many dark artifacts inside.

To strive for balance, this tower is physically connected to its sister, the Mage and Paladins Tower, to its east via teleporters on the roof.  It also has a unique red gate on the roof taking the person directly inside the front door on the first floor.  These features were added by the 'gods' in 1999 as PaxLair continued to be one of the bustling communities on the Chesapeake Shard.

All walks of life are welcome here, particularly "role-playing Evil".  As you walk through the dark halls, you may hear the wailing of wraiths while necromancers perform their rituals and prepare themselves to fend off the Paladins of the land.

The PaxLair North Arena is a building designated for PvP, both consensual and non-consensual, although it is also a place of peace during times of events, such as Bagball games, tournaments, and the Friday Fight Nights.

"Open to all Blacksmiths Novice to Grandmaster"

The small forge just east of the Mage/Paladins Tower of PaxLair was created in the early days of PaxLair, thus one of the original buildings.

It was enhanced by the gods (Interest Game Masters) when it was used for the PaxLair community as a completely open building for all blacksmiths to use a forge.  Crates and items exist in the building for more ornamentation than function, but it did add a lot to the area in a time when items could not be "locked down" in buidings.

The building was created by Driftwood and donated to PaxLair when he left.

The PaxLair Outpost Survival Traders derives its roots from the PaxLair Survival Shop in Felucca. The original Survival shop is a big piece of PaxLair's history and was a center for live vendoring by some of the founders of PaxLair and was a big cause for PaxLair's early success.

The Outpost Survival Traders carries on this tradition, although in the form of NPC Vendoring, due to Live Vendoring being phased out over time and the NPC Vendor becoming more desirable.

The building's location is in Western PaxOku along the road and very close to the Homare-Jima Moongate, making it an excellent Vendor Shop. Construction was completed on the PaxOku Headquarters for the Paladins of Virtue on August 25, 2005.  Located across the road from the Blue Light Tavern, the Paladins hope to help keep order and help all those in need in PaxOku.

The construction of the Paladin Keep of PaxLair was completed on August 5, 2005.  It was formerly known as the PaxLair Community Centre.  The Paladin Keep was constructed to safeguard the east meadow of PaxLair from any threat.  It is not specifically designed for PvP but may be used as a base of operations in case of attack.  You will need to contact Elijah Cross for access to this building.  This building is a rally point for forces of good combating evil.  Also contained within is the Paladins Tavern where there is always food, drink and music available to all friends of the keep.

The PaxLair Gardens is a museum dedicated to all things plants and has a very elaborate garden system on the first floor. The building is open to the public and welcomes all to come by and enjoy the view or to use the building for whatever purposes you may need.

Two large chimneys dart from the roof of the former PaxLair Inn, an establishment in PaxLair Felucca that was constructed as a location for all citizens and friends of PaxLair to rest safely (friended).  The Inn sat directly north of where the old PaxLair Inn - ran by Catherine - sat.  Initially the Inn also housed a winery and distillery but growing barley and grapes in Felucca proved futile.

The PaxLair Knights Headquarters is the personal guild hall for the PaxLair Knights [PxK], who hold a very rich history with PaxLair. Originally founded in PaxLair Felucca, the guild rose to the heights of respect and order when PaxLair needed them most. The PaxLair Knights kept the peace at all times within PaxLair and were essential to the growth of the city. 

The PaxLair Knight tradition carries on today through this building in Tokuno, which is comfortably suited for the different ranks of Knights.

The PaxOku City Hall is a building dedicated for many purposes. It's primary purpose is as the town hall for when PaxLair meetings occur, but it also serves as a closed meeting area, for private discussions.

The PaxOku City Hall also features a replication of the Twin Tower of PaxLair.

The Public Forge of PaxLair was established by Ebisu on March 10, 2005 as a building devoted to the Blacksmithing profession. Any blacksmith of any skill level may come to this forge and lend their services to any that come by.

Conveniently located beside the Tokuno Tea House, the Public Forge may be used by any smith looking for a place to sell their wares.

The Tall Tale Tavern & General Store, most known for it's simple name - The Saloon - has been a fixture in the history of taverns, arts and entertainment places in PaxLair for almost the life of the town itself.

The building, originally a large brick design, is now customized with a similarly-shaped design to incorporate a shop, bar and garden.

In its heyday the Saloon was one of the two most popular establishments in town, alongside the Ladies of the Lair; both of which were often sites of round-the-clock activity and host to numerous fun events.

Current and future plans for the Tavern include the addition of an Inn to replace the current Inn next door which is slated for demolition in the next month, and the construction of a roofed shop/general store.

The PaxLair Tea House resides in PaxOku and is the main PaxLair Government building for the Mayor and his Ministers.

The Balance of PaxLair reaches far above the huge Tea House complex, offering a symbol and practical use in the Balance between Good and Evil.

Inside the Tea House are offices for the Mayor, Minister of Quests, and Minister of Diplomacy.  There is also a meeting room the Mayor uses for Alliance, Council, and other special meetings.

Hear ye! Hear ye!  The PaxLair Meeting is now in session!  All rise for the esteemed Mayor and Ministers of PaxLair!

The call goes out to assemble the citizens, alliance, and friends.  The scribes in the library close their books and run up to the meeting chamber to get a good seat.  Guards assemble at the doors checking all that pass through.  The place is crowded, standing room only.  The Mayor enters ... and the meeting of PaxLair gets underway.

Built upon the ruin of the Second Chance Provisioners (SCP) and within a stones throw east of the PaxLair Mage and Paladins Tower, the Town Hall is a symbol of community and cooperation.  In the SCP days, people gathered from across the land to have their equipment mended, to purchase over-the-counter goods from the merchants, and to sit a spell while the blacksmiths worked hard at their anvils and forges.  Now built as a Town Hall, it continues to help bring unity in a dangerous land.

Troubadour Hall was originally a Sandstone House with patio until it was converted into a customizable plot upon the release of the Age of Shadows by Odin, a former defender and ally of PaxLair. When Odin left the realm he donated the building to PaxLair, where it eventually became Troubadour Hall, home of many legendary musicians.
