The Code of the Knights of PaxLair
By an Ancient Knight

A Knight knows only truth.

A Knight's word is his bond.

A Knight's Loyalty is cast in stone.

A Knight is patient, chivalrous, and humble in all ways.

A Knight fights the infidel with no mercy.

A Knight defends the weak, the Kingdom, and the Lord.

A Knight is the Champion of Right and Good.

"A Knight Knows only Truth"

Truth is all a Knight knows and is not tempted to lie to conceal anything from his fellow Knights or his Lord. For without pure truth at all times, the Knighthood is pitted with holes leading to failure and corruption.

"A Knight's Word is His Bond"

When a Knight declares he will do something, he must do it. His word is his bond in all matters small and large. To break one's word is to break the trust of the Knights, the Lord, and the Kingdom.

"A Knight's Loyalty is Cast in Stone"

A Knight's loyalty to the Knighthood is the foundation as stone is a foundation.
Therefore, ye must speak of such when ye approach the Stone of the Knighthood. Do thee this by speaking the phrase:
"My Loyalty is Cast Upon this Stone for the Knights, my Lord and the Kingdom."

"A Knight is patient, chivalrous, and humble in all ways"

Thou shalt be patient in all things, being watchful to understand that which is before ye. Do not speed thy conclusion nor be hasty to reach the next town. Let the Kingdom see that a Knight is relaxed and considers much in due time.
To be chivalrous is to be unified in Knighthood. To act out such chivalry is an unswerving devotion to the ceremony of life. Cast a cloak upon the ground for a lady, or prepare a royal ceremony for thy Lord. Such things are chivalrous.
Thou shalt be humble and not proud. For the Knights know they are the Knights and others will see such based on thy actions. If thy actions are stricken with gloating and pride, then ye are no Knight.

"A Knight fights the infidel with no mercy"

Infidels are common in the Kingdom and a Knight's duty is to show them no mercy when in combat. Such fights must be complete and serve the Lord and the Kingdom. Do not sway from thy duty for to do so diminishes the meaning of the Knighthood.

"Defend the Weak, the Kingdom, and the Lord"

Thou shalt defend with all ye might and strength those who are weaker and in need if thy aid. Do not shirk off such responsibility when the need arises, for a Knight is honor-bound for such a thing.
Thou shalt defend the Kingdom of that which ye serve and swear loyalty. For the Kingdom must survive if ye are to serve as a Knight.
Thou shalt defend the Lord of the Kingdom of that which ye serve and swear loyalty. For without the Lord, the Kingdom can not be led, and Knighthood has little meaning.

"A Knight is the Champion of Right and Good"

Right and Good are the laws of the Knights. Forever seek them, understand them, defend them, and become their Champion. For Knights are the epitome of that which is Right and Good.
