Cylitheria Found
The alliance of Xun Verin, Snub'Gruk and Caitiff gathered upon the
rooftop of the Tower of Order within the town of Pax Lair. The
commotion caused by the gathering brought many of the local citizens
and visitors to their location, producing a windstorm of activity upon
the ever-quiet rooftop of the tower. Amid all the turmoil sat a calm
figure, Razillian, Valuk of the Xun Verin and by his side the Warboss
of the Snub'Gruk clan, Murbog.
Razillian spoke to Murbog about the missing book of Orc History,
and of how his assassin, Ixle Grunton, had located the one who carried
the book, Cylitheria. After a short time, the Valuk received word from
the Xun Verin House Assassin that the warrioress was alone and
immediately made ready for her capture. Opening a gate to an unknown
location, Razillian sent forth a young Dark Elven warrior, Dil'threan,
to capture Cylitheria and return her to the Tower of Order.
Unfortunately, it seemed the young warrior was far to eager to
claim a name for himself as the Valuk soon received word of
Dil'threan's attack on and subsequent death by Cylitheria. Not wishing
to delay Cylitheria's retrieval, Razillian called forth Deneer to
provide a more aged understanding of these matters and opened a gate
for the Warlord to enter. With years of wisdom and the knowledge that
a blade was not always the best solution, Deneer entered the gate to
meet with this most deadly of women.
He arrived to find the freshly slain corpse of Dil'threan as well
as the warrioress Cylitheria, sword still in hand, hovering over the
corpse. Taking note at the ease to which the human female had
dispatched his dark elven brethren, Deneer took a more civil approach
and managed to persuade the lady to return with him to Pax Lair.
The two arrived before the Tower of Chaos through the gate Deneer
had summoned and quickly made their way to the rooftop. Stepping
across the bridge, which spanned the two opposing towers, they entered
the throng of people who awaited the arrival of the famed Cylitheria.
"Here is the woman you asked for Valuk," spoke Deneer across the
throng of people.
Razillian allowed himself the brief pleasure of a smile to cross
his lips before responding, "Deneer you serve us well."
Amid the crowd of humans, orcs, dark elves and others the two
finally met. Razillian took the lead and spoke first to the lady who
still new little of what was occurring, "Cylitheria, it is a pleasure
to finally meet thee."
The orcs crowded around the warrioress, poking and prodding in
search of the book upon her person. She let a glare fall upon the orcs
around her, forcing some back. "You seem to have the advantage," she
said to Razillian as she eyed the human leader of Dark Elves.
The Warboss of the Snub'Gruk clan of orcs stepped forward and,
perhaps as his way of greeting, reached forward with his hand and
poked his finger into Cylitheria's eye. The warrioress, ever composed,
merely slapped the intrusive hand away and continued to stare upon
Razillian.
"I am Razillian, Valuk of the Xun Verin," said Razillian.
"Me iz Murbog, Warboss ub da Snub'Gruk clan," Murbog said in his
best human tongue.
"Now that the pleasantries have been dispensed," spoke Razillian
again, "might we get down to business?"
Cylitheria, knowing better then to believe this to be a peaceful
meeting, eyed the crowd before saying, "Your assassination attempt was
non successful." With the last word, she threw to the ground the
freshly carved head of Dil'Threan as means of her evidence.
"We wished you no harm," said Razillian following the words with a
cruel chuckle. "He was young and foolish; and I fear will nae return
to this realm. The spider goddess is displeased with his actions."
At the sight of the dark elven head on the ground, the surrounding
crowd became far more turbulent. Amid all the noise, and with the
smell of blood in the air, a horse broke free from its master, going
into frenzy attacking the nearest orc. The Warboss, Murbog, set about
his defense nearly ending the poor creature’s life in an instant. Were
it not for the pleads of the crowd for its life and the swift calming
action of the horses master, the orc clan would have feasted well that
eve.
Calm still amongst all the turmoil, Cylitheria spoke, "Why do you
seek me out and pull me from my business?"
"You have a certain item we would like from you," Razillian said
with a smile displayed on his face. "In exchange for this item, we
offer your life and perhaps more."
Cylitheria became distracted for a moment as she scanned the crowds
before her and came upon a face she knew well. Words spoken to her
fell upon deaf ears as she glared at Jhym seated upon the roof among
the crowd. Turning her gaze away, she released her frustrations upon
the orc warboss demanding quiet from his clan.
As Murbog brought quiet to his orcs, Cylitheria turned back to the
waiting Razillian saying, "Now where were we?"
With a malicious grin etched upon his face, Razillian replied, "You
were about to give me the book."
"And in exchange?" asked Cylitheria.
"Name your price," said Razillian.
Removing the book from her pack, the warrioress held it over a
nearby flame asking, "How do I know you will help me?"
Playing down the importance to the book, the allied leaders stood
calmly; the orc merely scratching himself; the human saying, "I am a
man of honor," producing a few laughs from the ever present Dark
Elves. Razillian ignored the laughs and continued to speak, "Were I
not, we would merely have slain you for the book. Look around you, you
are outnumbered by far."
Obviously outnumbered, and lacking little choice but to take the
Valuk for his word, Cylitheria chose still to hold her ground saying,
"I will give you the book under my one condition. I want you to help
me take back the place where warriors are born and die."
Many in the crowd looked upon the warrioress in confusion, as did
the Warboss of the Snub'Gruk who shouted in his broken human tongue,
"Ork Fort? Dad is Murbogz!" Speaking of the only true warriors to an
orc and not those of the humans.
Razillian understood her words and with a pleasant grin replied,
"My Lady, what you ask would be a pleasure and nae a price. As Valuk
of the Xun Verin, this you ask shall be done."
Not yet willing to give in, Cylitheria made as if to hand the book
to Razillian, but instead held back turning to the Murbog. She spoke
to the Orc Leader saying, "And Murbog, something I want from you."
Frustrated with the human woman’s games, but knowing the need for
the book, Murbog growled and asked, "Wud?"
Cylitheria scanned across the orcs present randomly pointing to one
and called him forth. With a grunt from the Warboss, the orc Blug'Muk
came to stand before Cylitheria. She spoke to the orc asking, "Tell me
something orc, would you die for your clan?"
With pride, the orc puffed out his chest and spoke a single word,
"Yub!"
In a single movement Cylitheria tossed the book into the waiting
hands of Razillian and drew her sword, engaging the orc in combat. The
battle was quick, as the orc was no match for the veteran warrioress,
ending with the death cry of the Blug'Muk.
As the victorious Cylitheria cleaned and sheathed her blade,
Razillian once again called upon the magic learned from the Dark Elves
and openned a gate. The warrioress stepped toward the gate, turning
quickly to Razillian telling rather then asking the Valuk, "We have a
deal then."
Razillian replied with a mere, "Aye," and the warrioress was gone.
With book in hand, the human who would lead Dark Elves gathered his
forces around him and disappeared from the rooftop of the Tower of
Order.
