Azareil - As I was saying, My father encountered a troll who knew magery. He fought with the troll for a long while. The battle raged and my father tore out the eye of the troll. My father returned home and told me of his tale.
One day, while my mother was gardening, the troll which my father fought came up to her and began to beat on her. The troll did it right in front of my father and I, as we watcehd from the window, he raped her, he beat her, and tortured her. My father just stood and watched from the window, afraid.
I took matters into my own hands and I grabbed my father's sword and ran to the troll. I tried to slice at him, but it bounded off of his hide. He cracked my mothers neck and placed a curse on me. My father went insane after that. He would drink all night and return home and beat me. For years, this went on and I was 17. I sliced his belly open and he died.
I began my journey across my land to try to wipe out the void. A librarian from the town, came and talked to me. He wrote the first Warrior Book. One night I took shelter in a cave supposedly haunted by a ghost. Oh, as I forgot to mention, when my father would beat me, I was visited by a supreme being. She gave me the power to look into other worlds, as my reality was too harsh to bear. Now, in the ghost cave, I found myself in Sosaria. Down by Yew.
Zog: Was it the ghost of your mother?
I do not know. It might be, but when my nother was alive, I was told not to go there, as it was haunted by the ghosts of an ancient peoples.
I awoke in Sosaria 11 years ago. When I was 18, I found myself in the tower of Simalg, which brought visions of ghosts to me. I returned there many times to try to exorcise the building, but failed each time. Over the next 10 years I travelled around the land, fighting all the those who opposed me, and creatures who did the bidding of the void. I am not certain as to what my cruse is, but I do believe it is that I am to be alone for the entire duration of my life. But now, I do not believe that. Recently, my tales have been appearing for no reason. I do not know why, but I believe it is the void trying to draw me to it. There has been one person who's here tonight who I believe is my Salvation.
That is my tale.
Dene - I am looking to make sure the library maintains its purpose. To this end, the library in Corwyn is going to become the main library in this land. The lore, wisdom and stories of the ages will be deposited there including the volumes here. However, PaxLair will still have a library, a "branch" library so to speak, where the books relating to current quests or PaxLair itself, will still be available to browse. The library in the tower to the east will undergo a renovation to make it more user friendly and more streamlined. Basically, Corwyn wlil contain "all the books" no matter what. And PaxLair will contain the best sellers.
Enoch - For quite some time I have been working on a collection of books dealing with the history of the "true" realm of Sosaria... of which our world is but a small reflection. The first four volumes are now complete. They cover the "prehistory" of Akalbeth to the third age of darkness. The books are being proofread now in Akalabeth. We will be hosting a symposium, a scholarly symposium, a discussion group at the Lycaeum after the books are completed. Anyone who wishes to discuss or debate or simply learn more are invited to attend. Details will be posted soon.
Lance Bishop - I have but a limited amount of time I may traverse this mortal coil. Some of you know and others do not. I have something I would like to put together some time in the future. I would like to establish an event to be carried out by all the cities of this land. It would consist of crafts, tournaments, and a charity to be handled by my friend Talimor, because I trust him in my name to be given to all [young] people. This event would take place monthly even upon my passing. This is still somewhat abstract at this point, but it would mean so very much to me if my name was never forgotten. I have a terminal illness. It will take me but not without a fight never before seen. I hold my ground. I am not the greatest planner, so by all means lets all sit down and talk about this sometime. I trust that you will not let the world forget the name Lance Bishop, as annoyiung as it may sound.
Duris Vaughn - I have taken an interst in studying the stone structure that lies in front of this tower. I seek information about this structure and would appreciate any you all may have to offer. If needed, I will pay gold for the knowledge. I can be reached through the PaxLair Skyboard or be found at the PSS on Tuesday evenings, 8 till 10 PM eastern sky.
Zog - As some of you might know, I am a fisherman. As such, I travel to many
ports, see many things, and hear many rumors. One rumor I have been hearing in
every sea town of late disturbs me deeply. This rumor is one of famine. Coming
upon us as winter approaches. Evidently, with the loss of our craftspeople, and
the desolation of the lands, Town and city leaders are hiding the fact that the
granaries and other types of food are geting rather low and starvation might be
upon us within months. I have heard that the threat is real, and can offer some
aid. The sea has not been affected by the desolation of the lands. And perhaps
fisherfolk can help the cities survive the winter. If the town leaders state
that the threat is valid, I shall raise the fisherfolk to aid all the
landlubbers. Perhaps PaxLair citizens can escort the caravan from Skara Brae to
PaxLair.
