Olympic Chess Tournament

NOV 22 - PAXLAIR, CHESAPEAKE - The Olympic Chess Match was held atop the Order Tower in PaxLair this eve. While 30 contestants signed up, only 8 showed. This made an even bracket of competition. Merlin of Moonglow took the Gold Medal. Trigg of Minoc took the Silver, and Korin the Scribe of Moonglow took the Bronze (Anatoly Karpov could not remain to play off for the bronze).

The entire match lasted about two and one half hours and there were no disturbances. The rounds went as follows: 
FIRST ROUND:
Trigg [Minoc] -v- Shugster [Skara Brae] = Trigg [Minoc]
Korin the Scribe [Moonglow] -v- DoomFyre [Yew] = Korin the Scribe [Moonglow]
Anatoly Karpov [undeclared] -v- Sette [Minoc] = Anatoly Karpov [undeclared]
Jeg [Minoc] -v- Merlin [Moonglow] = Merlin [Skara Brae]

SEMI-FINALS:
Trigg [Minoc] -v- Korin the Scribe [Moonglow] = Trigg [Minoc]
Anatoly Karpov [undeclared] -v- Merlin [Moonglow]

FINAL ROUND:
Trigg [Minoc]-v- Merlin [Moonglow] = Merlin [Moonglow]!!

Haven has offered to host the Chess Tournament next season. This will allow me to perhaps enter the event myself * smiles and meditates at the Shrine of ChessMasters!! *
