PaxLair Announces 11-member Town Council

NOV 11 - PAXLAIR, CHESAPEAKE - A new age of community involvement and development started in PaxLair, a player town on the Chesapeake Shard, last night with the announcement of an 11-member town council. Mayor Winfield introduced the council in a ceremony on top of the North Tower in PaxLair after a month of framework sessions with various people throughout Britannia.

"The PaxLair Council is designed," Winfield said in his speech, "as a group independent from the Mayor's office. My office consists of myself and my Chancellors. The Council is an advisory and an action group for the benefit of all interested in PaxLair. Their role will continue to develop over time and always with the full interests of PaxLair people in mind."

The PaxLair Council consists of Marilla (chairwoman), Luthien (deputy chairman), CowMaster, Don Martin, Dresden, Eli, Ivanzypher, Jasper, Ostakker, Rebis, and a lady of the Lair (to be selected by the Ladies' Lair).

Chairwoman Marilla addressed the crowd explaining, "I believe I speak, again, for the entire council when I say that we are all excited and very pleased to be able to sit in the center of a new age, perhaps...An opportunity to expand the greatness that already is PaxLair, specifically and Sosaria, in general."

After some debate of who on the Council would get the corner office with the view of the forests, the people in PaxLair hailed a merry cheer for the Council members. The Olag Hai Orc Clan welcomed the Council with Warboss Gristle's statement "Ug humies, hoo us mojo on me orcie?". Apparently Mu'grak, an orc, attempted to steal from one of the council members during the discussions and Chancellor Shen put the orc down with a magic spell. Relations with the orcs might be one of the Council's top priorities in the near future.

The ceremony ended with yet another ceremony: a Citizenship ceremony where Minsk took the oath of citizenship from Mayor Winfield and she was dubbed the title "Lady of the Heart".

PaxLair is a player town on the Chesapeake shard, open to all and dedicated to the principles of peace, neutrality, and roleplaying.
