Tuesday evening, Jhym the Bard entertained the patrons of the Pax Lair Survival Shop. There was a goodly crowd, with many coming and going during the performance. Distinguished guests included Mayor Winfield and Elder Geryn.

Jhym performed several numbers from his vast repertoire, "A Bard's Tale", "The Oracle of the Forest", and "Why do Orcs carry Dat?" He also entertained with a "Tale of Twin Liches." By special request, he sang "Requiem for a Rose".

Other performers were Drake Marsten and Hannibal who entertained guests with tales.

Request was made of Mayor Winfield and Elder Geryn to tell a tale. Mayor Winfield escaped the request by a timely departure. Elder Geryn passed the request on to Sir Robin. With the encouragement of Julia Simon the bar maid, Sir Robin acceded to the requests to perform. He proceeded to become exceedingly drunk and, accompanied by the music of Jhym, entertain the crowd with a rousing rendition of "The Tale of Camelot" and "The Tale of Sir Robin the Brave".

The evening was a overwhelming success, all participants and performers having a grand time.

Due to some confusion, the tales of Hannibal and Drake Marsten were told at the same time and, thanks to the haze each tale only heard by half of the room. I have included the text of each here for the edification of all, as both tales were equally good. To hear Jhym or Sir Robin sing, you will have to seek out the source.

Drake Marsten:

"I have a tale as well should any be interested in listening to an old man.

I may be no bard but I have traveled the land a long time and have seen many a interesting thing. I noticed many of you were quite curious about the oracle, The lady of the forest.

I have a tale of that lady.

First of all for those who do not know I am a man of the forest and the Lady is one that guides my kind in times of need.

Some many many months ago a great evil decided to hunt my clan.

My clan was not used to being hunted by something so dangerous. Our lives were in danger, so I had no choice but to seek out the lady.

I remembered the tales since my youth but did not know where to begin.

Then I have heard that the Famous bard Jhym had news about the lady. The song of the lady was all that I needed to find her, for she will appear to those of the forest and to those in need.

The night of the meeting was grand indeed, it was perhaps the greatest night my clan has ever known. The Forest Oracle gave us the information that we needed to save the clan.

She also blessed us.

I would not be alive now without her aid.

Thank thee all for thine attention, it does an old man joy."

Hannibal's tale

I have a tale. A clever one.

Once upon a time, there was a young boy in Britain. The people of Britain took him for an idiot because they believed he was stupid.

Around the same time King Britain had met three brothers of great vision. The first could see a mile away. The second could see through walls and the third could see in to a library and read a book. The king hired these brothers as his private guard. He believed no one could fool them. He declared, " Anyone who fools my guards gets half my kingdom!"

The little boy heard this and thought of how to fool guards with x ray vision.

Many people tried.   They tried to sneak in the castle in Grandfather clocks, in hay trucks. But no one could elude the guards.

King Britain was very proud.

One day the boy appeared before the brothers. They looked at him warily. "What is your business here they said." The boy had a wagon full of sand. "What will you do with this sand?" the guards asked. "It's for my sandbox," said the boy. The guard knew he was lying. "What are you up to stupid boy?" the guard said. They all looked through the sand but found nothing.

The boy did this everyday for a month. At the end of the month he appeared before king Britain. "I come to claim my kingdom." the boy said. King Britain laughed. "What do you mean?" he said. The boy took him to his house and showed him 30 wagons all owned by the king.
