Statement of New Objectives for PaxLair from Mayor Winfield

by Mayor Winfield, August 30, 2000

Last week at the city meeting (August 23, 2000), Mayor Winfield announced three new objectives for the City of PaxLair. These do not replace the tenets of peace, neutrality, and [role-playing], but add to the focus of PaxLair after several months of changes in the realm.

PAXLAIR OBJECTIVES

  1. Promote the well-being and progress of all cities and towns on all facets of our realm.
  2. Defend the rights of all peoples to come to PaxLair in neutrality and peace.
  3. Offer to all an avenue to experiment.

The question now is "how does PaxLair accomplish these new objectives"?

1. Promote the well-being and progress of all cities and towns on all facets of our realm.

  1. Provide weekly meetings for all the towns to come together in one place at a common time to discuss ideas between towns and across the shard.
  2. Encourage and have joint operations for quests and events between PaxLair and other towns.>
  3. Offer advice on PaxLair experiences to newer towns.
  4. Become a central repository for information about pros and cons and approaches to building a player town.
  5. Work extensively with UO Chesapeake to help bring these objectives to fruition across the shard in a central and unified manner.

2. Defend the rights of all peoples to come to PaxLair in neutrality and peace.

  1. Offer opportunities for people to attack and defend PaxLair.
  2. Offer the challenge of gathering intelligence on adversaries and sharing information with the public and select defenders.
  3. Offer a judicial system which applies to all people who enter PaxLair with role-playing opportunities to conduct a trial.

3. Offer to all an avenue to experiment.

  1. Create new Chancellor positions and offer these to people with good ideas.
  2. Offer the use of PaxLair buildings with ease and flexibility for groups and individuals.
  3. Offer an environment where people react to mini-quests and large quests.
  4. Offer an environment where news reporters can experiment with reporting events, encounters, and quests.
  5. Offer a place for many people to come together with experimental ideas each week.
