Solace Found   

In a time, not long after the Crystal of Immortality was shattered, there lying just west of the desert, a city called PaxLair. The people of the city were in a crisis, not knowing which gods or virtues to worship. This brought about many arguments and fights. Then a man of PaxLair had a vision of a god, a god whom he referred to as the "One True God". This man was Ben Masters, Father of Sir Dev Masters. This God that spoke to Ben told him of a land of solitude and prosperity. Ben gathered followers, which called themselves "The Believers". Together they spread the word of this One True God and his promise of a land where they could do as they pleased. Many listened to their words, but few chose their beliefs. For many this One True God was a mere joke.

On day while preaching of this new land and the God, a Kobold named Karnuk [who was really an orc in disguise] came to Ben and told him he knew of such a land, and for a price he could take him to it. Not long after that Ben gathered his followers and with them he left the town of PaxLair under the lead of Karnuk. Karnuk took them deep within the confines of the forest. Many a night had they spent in the forest under Karnuk's lead, when finally they reached a mountain pass, which Karnuk had told would be the most perilous part of their journey. If they only knew how true to them he was being, for on top the mountain waited a clan of orcs, who had been using Karnuk all this time to direct these poor people into an ambush. Once onto the mountain, the orcs had surrounded Ben's party. Ben and his party fought bravely. The battle went on for quite a while. All of the believers regeants were used... many were injured. They thought things could not get any worse, but they were wrong. Once they had almost reached the bottom of the mountain pass, they had walked right into a nest of giant scorpions. They were forced to engage in another battle. Many were poisoned and dead after the battle, and now before them lay their promise land.

With great haste they made their way to the exit of the mountain pass, o find their promise land was nothing but waste land... a barren desert. They had already come so far, so they had no choice but to keep moving. Days passed, more died from the poison. It almost seemed like all hope was lost. Then to Ben and the believer’s surprise they had stumbled upon an oasis where garlic and ginseng grew. The mages that were left gathered up all the regeants and were able to cure the remaining group. From this Oasis they were able to survive. Indeed this had become their promise land, but the creatures of the desert proved to be strong... so they started building a fortress.
Days… Years went by. Then finally it was finished. Fortress Solace. The Fortress stood tall and strong. The people had gone about their lives in the solitude and protection promised to them... Until one day when a great earthquake hit, bringing down a part of the mountain that had kept them from the world. And now it is time for Solace to make its appearance for the first time in the world of Britannia...
