Last eve something strange happened in Pax Lair.
I was in the Ladies of the Lair this fine eve attending the bar keep ( It
always seems like its my shift ) and listening to the sounds of Jhym pluck the
harp. Along with the merry band of drunk adventures who were sitting around
bragging stories of the latest dragon they had just slayed or the vile murder
they brought to justice.
Yes, all was fine this night when Lady Cylitheria the newest member of the
Ladies of the Lair walked in. The doors opened and everyone stopped to turn
there gaze upon the beauty but something was amiss, normally Cylitheria the
quiet shy person I have become to known returned everyone's gaze back upon
them. She had seemed like she was in a foul mood indeed. "Cylitheria is
something wrong ?" Penthor asked her.
She replied that nothing was wrong only to ask Jhym to sing his beautiful new
song that he had wrote.
Jhym always the organized one fumbled around for a few minutes trying to
gather his thoughts and once again it was The Rose of the Lair, Cylitheria,
who very uncharacteristic of her peaceful ways, slammed her fist on the table
and demanded him to sing. Thinking nothing of it I continued to serve those
that came to the bar and even let out a small giggle. Cylitheria then lift her
head up and gave me a glare that sent shivers up my spine, then I knew
something was wrong. This was not the same Cylitheria I knew.
Jhym then began to sing,
On the road Trinsic bound with home on his mind,
While Jhym was singing I started to notice Cylitheria sitting with her eyes
closed started to wave her arm's around at this point. And Jhym continued,
Did he listen, did that bard? of course not --- silly fool
he laughed at the mage, 'I've fought myself a ghoul!'
why nothing in this woods will break my huntsman's cool!'

Not a minute up the road did that bard walk to see,
beside a big flat rock two trolls by a tree
An Ogre sat beside his bellow, 'ah food FOR ME!'

By this point Cylitheria was waving her arm's and head in a graceful dance. It looked like she was under some hypnotic spell. Thinking her dancing I continued to listen to Jhym,
Madly playing the bard ran strumming harp with trembling hand
Right as Jhym sang his beautiful song Cylitheria started to go into
convolutions. Her limp body fell to the floor as people rushed around her as
fast as they could. It was just then Sir Kyle and Lady Vixxen, a fellow sister
and Lady of the Lair, walked in only to see what had happened.
Penthor picked her body up and what happened next I can never forget. I heard
Jhym mention something about Cylitheria being sick and when he did a bolt of
light shot from Cylitheria eyes. An eerie glow came from them and when it
subsided her eyes were a different color than before. She shouted out "LEAVE
ME BE" as all backed away from her.
Jhym stared at her with disbelief as if nothing had happened but all else knew
something was wrong. Cylitheria went on to speak about how Jhym was the "Key"
to setting her free again. She then let out a laugh, an evil laugh that I have
heard before but can't quite place my finger on it..........and before she
could be questioned she started to convulse again and fell to the floor for a
second time. Penthor then splashed a little water over her face only to have
Cylitheria awaken not remembering anything.
After that, everything calmed down and Cylitheria walked herself to bed where
she departed for the night.. I fear for my fellow sister and I hope everything
will be all right.
Just a few questions remain:
Number one what triggered this? Some say it was Jhym's singing.
Number two why did Cylitheria call him the "Key" and,
Number three what is this evil that will be released?
I guess only time will tell but until then I will continue to hope and pray
for my fellow lady.....
