Who is The Maid?

A full 2 months has gone by since I last heard the
strange sounds that followed me everywhere I went. At first I didn't know
what any of it ment. What I did know was that my connection to the spirit
world was growing stronger and stronger. Now I seem to be able to understand
with perfection what any spirit of the realm has to say. Little did I know
this night how that would lead me into what would be the greatest adventure
of my life, and perhaps the most dangerous. As I was walking through the
streets of Mythendale my home away from home I saw a strange spirit standing
at the doorstep of the town's hall. I realized I was the only one that
saw it there because everyone else had not even made notice of it. The
spirit was identified as the Gatekeeper and from my studies I knew he was
a very powerful spirit indeed. Like the rest before him I was able to understand
with perfect clarity what he said as he spoke directly towards me,
"Do you wish to know about the Maid?"
I shook my head yes and he had told me to take him
to the Abby. Along with Blaise, a faere from Mythendale we made our way
there and followed the Gatekeeper. His spirit was standing next to a box
and as I opened it I saw a book and a map. Quickly grabbing them both I
scanned its contents,
This map leads to the village of Lontish which is south of
Yew. At
the time of this writing, Lontish is under attack. The villagers made statements
about moving the village. I fear the current village of Lontish is now
or will soon be a ruin. Where the village would have moved is unknown to
me.
Following the map we came across the ruins of what
was the town of Lontish. A golden box caught my eye as I opened it and
found yet another map and another book. It was dirty and torn but I was
able to make most of it out,
Our move is completed to the new village houses on the
peninsula.
Fishing and farming are good.....The livestock is getting fat.....fire
started by the invaders again, driving us to the fortress beyond our old
village ruins. Will they not leave us in peace!....talk about the coming
of the Maid. When will she arrive? Who is she? Lontish needs her, the people
need her. This constant fighting is wearing upon us....recovered from the
fortress once more and repaired our damaged homes....
Looking at the second map, myself and Blaise located
the new location of the town of Lontish and determined it was within running
distance. After a quick hike,

of my back so I can fly like that faere*
we arrived in Lontish's new location. After much searching we came up
with nothing to show for it. Searching the area I noticed a man cutting
down some trees in the near by area. He was the friendly sort and told
us his name was Jacque a citizen of Lontish. We had inquired about the
myth of who the Maid was but once again came up short. Jacque had told
us that the Maid myth was just that, a legend. He did tell us though that
perhaps we could find more at the ruins of the old Lontish, that perhaps
we had overlooked something in our eagerness to find the map and book.
Blaise and I scurried back to the ruins of Lontish and found the gatekeeper
there once again. As he began to speak Blaise had informed me that he was
unable to hear him but I understood with perfect clarity,
"There is a prophecy, a myth perhaps. More of
a legend yet to come true. Change will occur like the wind. Not from a
storm but from a sealed door opening from within. A girl will step through
the door and enter the Realm. You will now know her for some time. Then
she will be known by her action and visions. She will be known as the Maid.
She will come to lead those who would follow. She will present the people
with a noble of the Realms in the end. Bear in mind a prophecy has many
paths to reach its end. And the time to travel such paths is unknown for
now. Signs will happen in the days and months ahead. This is all I can
tell you of the specific prophecy."
When I asked The Gatekeeper as to where we go from
here he had said
"Seek out the sister city."
PAX LAIR! Traveling to the legendary city would require
more powerful magic that I had possessed though. Luckily for me my faere
friend Blaise did know of such magic that would gate us to Pax. When we
got there we quickly found the tavern and was greeted by a woman of grand
beauty and grace, Stormchaser. We informed her of what we knew and she
quickly told us she also was in search of The Maid. She told us about
how The Gatekeeper came to her and told her to tame the Red Dragon Mylanth,
who appears to be sister of a sinister Black Dragon who has claimed a single
human soul. She had led us to believe the dragon was seeking two people
out and had told of "Her Coming", the two the dragon was referring to was
named Azareil and Haden Ventri, who were spotted throughout the town over
the past few weeks. Who are these people and what do they have to do with
the current events?
Stormchaser showed me a tome that was left by The
Gatekeeper which you can find at Luigi's pizza place, it was the very same
words he had said to me when I returned to the ruins of Lontish. It wasn't
to long before once again The Gatekeeper reappeared to us and had this
to say,
The good man Winfield, who it was an honor to meet
for the first time joined us at Luigi's pizza palace and told us he knew
pretty much the same information. A little bit later once again the mystic
Gatekeeper arrived again striking out at Winfield but not doing any serious
harm, he had this to say
"The Maid will have golden hair and be a child,
You will not know her name, She will need a monk or priest to teach her
the problems of the realms. She will encounter death of her only friend.
She will receive a calling from the gods. She will lead the people of the
realm a noble worth of respect and honor."
And just like that he vanished without a trace not
to appear for the rest of the night. There are so many question that need
answered but the one that come to the front of my mind is, who is The Maid?
I guess it is only a matter of time before we find out. I will not rest
until I myself have the answers to the questions that I have!!!! If anyone
can help me in this investigation do please seek me out in Mythendale!!
