July 19th: PaxLair
Meeting and Red Wolf Event |
PaxLair Town Meeting on July 19,
2004: Luthien and Lady Eve, from Mythndale were present for the meeting,
along with John McBain and Snoopy, from Dragon's Watch. Others present, were
Winfield, Grimlar Mithrax, DoomFyre, Cross MacLeod, Lord Monk, and Winmere.
Mayor Minsk missed the meeting due to other pressing matters, so the meeting
turned out to be a general discussion group.
We discussed the falling of the Ant Queen in Moonglow and lamented the fact
that none of us had been there to witness it. Lady Eve mentioned that a
certain young elf has taken a fancy to the ladies of PaxLair and thinks
there are too few true ladies left in the land. She also said that he was
bearing the chilling cold, at that very moment. This needs further inquiry.
Winfield inquired about the Red Wolf event that eve, and when Winmere
mentioned that it was a looting race, Winfield asked, "Like in PaxLair?
Aren't there looting races here?" Everyone burst out laughing, and Luthien
replied, "I thought they were here nightly."
Winfield was also looking for Lord Jasper, whom he said was now homeless,
and sleeping in the Paladin's Tower. DoomFyre responded, "Friends are never
homeless!" Cross MacLeod assured Winfield that Jasper is being well looked
after in the Paladin's Tower. Lady Eve said that "Sanctuary" in Mythndale is
open for any friends who needs a place to lay their head. Winfield hinted
that Lord Jasper had done something with his houses, which made him
homeless, but said that was for Lord Jasper to tell us. Unfortunately, no
one had seen Lord Jasper this eve, which left Winfield still seeking a
meeting with him.
Lady Eve reported that there was a good turnout for the "Storytime" event
held at "Sanctuary" in Mythndale Sunday, last. Lord Jasper has promised to
be present for the next "Storytime" event. Lady Eve also announced that Lord
Luthien will commence writing a "History of the Elves," which many expressed
an interest in reading. Lady Eve mentioned that she has not heard from the
Kobolds, or Dazlik, her son, and wished that anyone who has news of them,
please relay that information to her. We ended her discussion with talk
about Luigi's pizza and cookies, which everyone agreed, are the best in the
land!
Winfield inquired about the latest news on the McManus fiefdom, and wondered
if a meeting had been arranged between the Mayor and McManus for this week.
Cross MacLeod informed us that McManus occaionally comes to collect taxes.
There was mention of the McManus forces not doing well recently. DoomFyre
suggested that perhaps his rear is not a good arrowcushion. Winfield asked
about the 'fiefdom forces' and Cross responded with, "We offer resistance."
Winmere reported that the Treasure Hunting Library is over half finished,
and hopes to finish up within the next two weeks. Cross suggested that the
Jail in the Knight's Tower could be dismantled and used for the Rune
Library. The meeting ended and Winmere gated everyone to the Red Wolf Cafe
for the Looting event, hosted by Kara and Lissa.
The Red Wolf Cafe had looting boxes placed in three cities. They gated the
participants to each city in succession. The instructions were to loot the
daggers from the box, and there were a couple of "special boxes" with marked
runes inside. If you happened to find a box with a rune, you were to go to
that rune location to see if you were the prize winner. There was also a
prize at the end for the person who collected the most daggers. During a
lull between gating to the cities, a discussion was started about places
people might like to see "Looting" events occur. Some places mentioned were
certain dungeons, or places in Ilshenar, the Caves of Bucaneer's Den, Haven,
Umbra, the Delucia tunnels, the Britain Sewers, and Tancred said Wind,
because the warriors can't go there!
The "Looting" event was held in Papua, Trinsic, and Jhelom. For the rune
contest, Anton was the winner of Papua. He was given his choice of three
prizes, after being informed that the prize bags were weighted with
bandages. Anton's prize was commodity deeds for 1000 of each reagent and
some bandages. Lord Gabriel was the winner for Trinsic. The prize bag he
chose had Powder of Fortifying and bandages. Lord Gabriel was also the
winner of Jhelom. His chosen prize bag held a Copper Runic Hammer and
bandages.
There was a tie between Faust D'Barder and Templar Kefka, for the most
daggers collected. They both had ten. A dagger faceoff was announced to
break the tie. Kara went to hide one box with a dagger in an unknown
location. Faust and Templar were gated to the location and the audience made
bets on who would win. The final outcome was Kris winning third place and a
prize of 10K, Templar Kefka took second place and 25K in gold, and first
place was Faust D'Barder, winning 50K. Congratulations to all the winners!
