Last Two Weeks of DBx Doom Hunts

Last week, on the seventh day of the sixth month, we had a very rewarding hunt with the DBx guild in Doom. We had no tamer with us, so I thought we would be very lucky indeed, if we ended the night with an artifact. We had finished several rounds in Doom, when we were joined by one of the Paladins of Virtue, Victor Knightley. With the surname of Knightley, one must wonder why Victor is not in the Knight's guild. *ponders*

Shortly after Victor joined us, he reported that he had received "The Ring of the Elements"! Congratulations Victor! Unfortunately, we ran into problems a short time later. Two of our party had died and could not re-enter the realm, and one of them was the party leader. *sighs* Most of the party left, while Victor and I waited for the two fallen heroes to return. Victor had managed to recover a few items from one body, before the party was disbanded. After almost half an hour, the fallen heroes finally returned. Victor turned over the few items he was able to save off one of their corpses, and we called it a night.

I returned to the Drunken Bull Tavern with Mack, and Rayven Stormglow, where we discussed recent events. My apologies for kicking you Thesias. I now realize that, even if you had been with us, it might not have prevented the deaths, and other problems, of our fallen heroes. I was made aware of the reason that the DBx guild does these hunts. They have debts to repay, which they try to repay by acquiring artifacts and selling them. I offered them my white stick to sell, but they graciously declined, stating that it was mine.

DBx opens the Doom hunts to all and they provide the gold skulls for crossing, but if any participant outside the DBx guild, gets an artifact, they are free to keep it. I offered to help them in another Doom hunt the following night, but alas, I forgot the Goddess keeps a different time, than the one that DBx follows. I waited for ten minutes, before I realized that DBx had probably been in Doom for over an hour and I had missed them! How gracious of DBx to open their hunts for all and allow participants to keep any artifacts they acquire personally.

This week, on the fourteenth day of the sixth month, the DBx Doom hunt was not quite as successful. Upon arrival, we encountered the skeletal dragon. We had to slay it, before we could summon Chyloth for passage. Our warriors were valiant and our mages skilled, but we were outmatched. Poison seemed to be more difficult to cure, than in the past. Poison required multiple castings of cure, before being effective, and then, sometimes it was too late. Many of us died multiple deaths, along with our mounts dying, before we slew the skeletal dragon and crossed to the other side.

I was planning to retire early, but I wanted to help the DBx guild as much as I could, so I stayed longer than I planned. About two hours later, we decided to call it a night, and we had no reports of an artifact being found. It was a disappointing night. It is always thrilling to hear someone say they received an artifact! I shall hope for better luck next week!
