John McBain of Dragon's Watch Speaks

At this week's PaxLair weekly meeting, we were joined by two special guests:  John McBain of Dragon's Watch and ATD, and Xotche of Meade, representative of the Chesapeake Community Association.  The meeting lasted a quick half hour, before we made our way to the Red Wolf Cafe for the looting scavenger hunt.  Also, a visit was made to Dragon's Watch.  In attendance were Mayor Minsk, John McBain, NANOC, King Id, Wizard of Id, Lord Earl, Lord Monk, Neo Of Lothlore, Grimlar Mithrax, Scruffy Rumbelly, Winmere, Xotche of Meade and Old Man Winfield.

PaxLair Crew Wins a Regatta at the Red Wolf Cafe

Last week the crew of the PaxLair Schooner, Minsk, Winmere, Grimlar Mithrax, and Captain Nemo won a regatta at the Red Wolf Cafe.  Mayor Minsk congratulated the crew and cheered for another victory next month.

Guildmaster of ATD and Lord of Dragon's Watch, John McBain Speaks

Lord John McBain of Army of the Dragon [ATD], addressed the audience at the PaxLair meeting with two topics: one good, one bad.  The good news was that Dragon's Watch, a lasting Felucca town, would like to build better relations with PaxLair!  Suggested ideas are to allow for PaxLair citizens to participate in Dragon's Watch events, such as hunts and fights, and the reverse with Dragon's Watch citizens attending our meetings and adventure nights.  Look for close co-operation between the two towns in the near future.

The bad news addressed by Lord McBain was in response to the realm's new rules on housefighting.  Under the new rule-system, anyone who attacks another person will not be able to enter any houses for at least two minutes.  This translates into an inability for citizens of the two towns to defend houses and establishments from reds, from now on, as an aggressor flag would prevent citizens from seeking refuge in houses.  Lord McBain suggested forming an association of Felucca-players, who will protest and write to the gods, asking for better solutions for people to defend against reds.  More news of this is expected soon.

Xotche of Meade Talks About the Summer Festival

Lady Xotche of Meade spoke to the audience about the upcoming Skara Brae summer festival, and the plans for a Felucca event.  The plan is to have an event that focuses around PvP, which would require a working arena.  Ideas for fixing the arena, or perhaps the possibility of constructing a new arena are being tossed around the ministry council, and final solutions should be formulated in the coming weeks.  After Lady Xotche finished speaking, the Gatekeeper appeared and said that he would be providing a quest at the festival!  Atra Sopor!

PaxLair Takes a Trip to Dragon's Watch

After the meeting, the PaxLair crew hurried to Dragon's Watch for a quick look at the town's facilites.  The town houses a town square with various huts, a tailor and blacksmith shoppe, the guildmaster's quarters and even the tomb of Rand al'Thor.  A few paces to the South West we found a grand town hall with dual waterfalls and even a map of the old town, constructed with miniature house statuettes!  After surveying the ancient town, we made our way to the Red Wolf Cafe for the Looting Race.

Looting Race at the Red Wolf Cafe

This week's event at the Red Wolf Cafe was a fun looting race that took us to Minoc, Nujel'm and Jhelom in search of pink boxes with specially marked daggers inside.  Team PaxLair - Winmere, Grimlar Mithrax and Neo Of Lothlore - only managed to find a total of six daggers out of a possible ninety in all three towns.  But we weren't about to give up there, as we had found a special golden dagger which entitled us to a mystery prize at the end of the game!

Masamune of *V* ended up winning, with a challenging tiebreaker separating Xotche of Meade and Yanni into second and third places respectively.  Three finders of coloured daggers were allowed to pick a mystery prize at the end of the game, and I managed to pull out a magic brazier for the new town hall!  At the very end of the game the Gatekeeper appeared and spoke a mantra, ZESM, to the dagger holders and informed that they and their daggers would be needed for a future quest!

Overall a fun time was had by the large audience, and a successful PaxLair meeting helped to bring two ageing Felucca towns closer together.

Safe journeys my friends...
