| Subject: | Last Week's PaxLair Meeting |
At last week's town meeting, we had many people returning after long absences, like Bel'la Kyorl and Miranda. Winfield, Monk, Grimlar Mithrax, Gandolph, and Xotche of Meade were also in attendance. Unfortunately, the Mayor was absent. With just half an hour for meetings now, by the time we realized that Mayor Minsk was not going to attend, it was too late to have a meeting. It was pleasant to welcome back old friends and talk with everyone who attended. Miranda said that she hoped she would not get killed because of her color. She was sporting a red hue. This led to a discussion on trust, among other things. A few minutes before the hour, Xotche of Meade reminded us that Red Wolf Cafe was hosting a scavenger hunt. I opened a gate and we arrived just in time to hear the rules explained and to break up into teams of three. Bel'la, Grimlar and I, were the Gray Team. The Gold Team won the contest for most items found. More contests followed the main one, where each team member had to select one of the outfits we had acquired on the scavenger hunt and wear it in competition against the opposing team members. This generated a lot of snickers, because some of the outfits were incomplete. The Gatekeeper was silently present during the fashion competition. Does anyone get the impression that wherever you go, there he is? The Wizard of Id was kind enough to trade seats with me, so I did not have to suffer the cold aura of the Gatekeeper. After prizes had been handed out, the Gatekeeper said, "An Underworld gate must be sealed for those willing at this late hour." Oh no! Not again! With birds and chickens in tow, we went deep into the bowels of Shame for the first sealing. Grimlar stepped in some sticky concoction those evil mages of Shame had poured on the floor. I had to gate him home, so he could clean off his boots. We missed the second sealing. That Gatekeeper! He never lets you stop at one! Tancred RedStar was present for both sealings and you can read his tale by touching the words below. |
