Farewell to The Hemp Clan [THC] & Humility Village

The Champagne Toast to THC & Humility

Fire Island, Felucca, was filled with tears and the aroma of the finest champagnes Sunday night, as a great farewell cheer was made in the name of The Hemp Clan!  What was thought to be a casual, fun event; the toast turned into a goodbye celebration for one of the pioneering guilds of Britannia - as well as the player-run Village of Humility.

Founded around six years ago, The Hemp Clan was known for its time spent on fire island, in Humility, and assisting PaxLair in many ways.  Once, in the early days, the guild spent many weeks living completely out of their tower, as a brotherhood, and cut themselves off from bank boxes, and external supplies.  The guild once hosted a Quest for the Virtues, in which they visited shrines and learned about their related virtues.  During the Pub. 16 days, THC formed the PaxLair Accord [PxA]; a guild that embraced the times, participated in champion spawns, and braved the peril of Felucca and its dungeons.

THC was also responsible for the founding and upkeep of the Village of Humility, a small community situated beside a mountain-pass that made up the Shrine of Humility.  The village housed a good dozen or so buildings, ranging from a winery, to a fortress, to private residences and the Bloody Keg Tavern - all of which were greatly improved with the customizable house feature, last year.  At one point in time, the Bloody Keg had regular, weekly pit fights that drew in quite a crowd, along with tavern nights.  The Village was also home to a number of quests, and was often a place that Seers visited, including Seer Sannio, now an employee of the ORIGIN.  The Gatekeeper also visited the city on occasion, along with minions from the ever-going Mazrim Quest.

Saying goodbye to old friends is never easy, let alone accepting parting gifts from them.  But last night The Hemp Clan went out in style.  Sporting their ever famous green cloaks, guildmaster and mayor, JEG, announced that this would be the last day of the Hemp Clan in Britannia.  A toast was made to the good times and the bad, and before our very eyes, both buildings in view were demolished!  In the spirit of true brotherly compassion, and humility, the Hemp Clan awarded those at the toast with many years of collected goods, and historical items - everything they owned!

JEG, Torez and Mad Mardigan explained to us how they intended to do this in the same style as one Humility citizen had once done to them: by giving away everything they owned, before they left Britannia for eternity!  Hesitant at first, the crowd started to scoop up the countless rares, cheques, deeds, powerscrolls and resources, after it was decided that many of them could be put to good use for less fortunate citizens of the major towns of today; PaxLair, Silvervale and Mythndale.

Soon after most of the items were taken to safe locations, the Village of Humility and the THC guild disbanded, and made their parting farewells with the tearful crowd.

Godspeed JEG, Torez, Mardigan, others, and The Hemp Clan, may you forever be remembered as one of the greatest brotherhoods of Chesapeake!
