Minutes of the February 16th, 2004 PaxLair Weekly Meeting

The Royal Bagball Arena Outside of Luna in Malas

The Royal Bagball Arena Outside of Luna in Malas

Unlike any other PaxLair Weekly Meeting, this one started off with a mathematical equation!  It seemed that some of the citizens were trying to figure out how many Paxlair meetings have been held to date!  One person suggest a figure of 75000, another suggested 5^100 and a few others offered different, high-end mathematical logarithms to describe the sheer enormity of the number of times PaxLair has gathered to plan and acknowledge brilliant ideas from around the realm!

Personally I was only focused on counting the number of people who were in attendance this evening.  The meeting consisted of Mayor Minsk, Winmere, Zog the Fishmonger, Cross Macleod, Blyten Adora, Neo Of Lothlore, Tyrone Trevor and a man by the name of Who.

Naturally.

Plans for the Opening of the Mythndale/PaxLair Embassies

Mayor Minsk reminded us all that a grand celebration would be held on or around March the first to officially open the new Embassies.  A call for events was made at tonight's meeting and many ideas were suggested.  One of the more popular ideas was to have chicken races, and another was to hold a PaxLair -vs- Mythndale Bagball Game!  It was agreed on that the two teams involved in this game would be one from Paxlair, and one from Mythndale and that a game against Silvervale could be held at a later time.  Where to actually play the game is still being decided.  The clear choice seems to be the arena in Malas, but rumour of an arena being built in Silvervale would provide a better, more flexible atmosphere for those who cannot travel to Malas.

Cross Macleod Appointed Captain of the PaxLair Peekays: Bagball Team

Mayor Minsk officially presented the rights to Lord Cross Macleod to form a bagball team for PaxLair.  Preliminary team designs included choosing the name, tentatively the "PaxLair Peekays"; selecting the team colors, currently red; and determining a team uniform, presently a red robe with a red bone helm.  Of course, these team qualities are subject to change at the will of Lord Cross, who is the team captain, and also most likely the holder of the position of "sword".  Any PaxLair citizen interested in joining the team may see Lord Cross Macleod, or leave him a message on the PaxLair Skyboards.

PaxLair Looking for an Ambassador

Mayor Minsk is seeking someone to be granted the position of Official PaxLair Ambassador.  The mayor specified that she is looking for someone who spends quite a bit of time in Mythndale, Silvervale and Paxlair and whom would be willing to accept the task of creating and maintaining successful political agreements with all of the towns.  They new Ambassador would most likely work with staffers from the upcoming Mythndale Embassy, to be built in PaxLair.

Mayor Questions the Date of Mythndale, Silvervale's Founding

Another topic addressed by Mayor Minsk was the founding of the two well-known Trammel towns, Mythndale and Silvervale.  It was put forth that the founding dates of the towns was somewhere within the region of April to May of 2000, but exact dates have not been determined at this time.  If anyone has the exact information on these dates, PaxLair would like to know, as there were suggestions to hold an anniversary celebration for the towns this spring.

Deadline Set for the Architectural Plans for the new Lord Thelorn Town Hall

Mayor Minsk set this coming weekend as the final date for submissions from the firms of Neo Of Lothlore and Winmere, for the new PaxLair town hall.  Ideas put forward by the mayor included a nice garden rooftop, a fountain, a meeting hall and a mayor's office.  The construction is expected to take two days (boy those construction workers build fast in Britannia!) and should be completed three weeks or so from the date of this article.

Lord Cross Macleod to Possibly Assemble Guides to Doom

An idea put forward by Winmere, to Cross Macleod, would have the poor Paladin working 'till his fingers vanish like a horde minion being chased by a dark father!  But nevertheless, Lord Cross decided to take a look into what he could assemble for a PaxLair Guide to Doom, hosted on the Paladin's of Virtue site.  Hopefully more about this will be noted in the coming weeks.

PaxLair Council to Possibly Meet Sometime Soon

An idea on the infamous PaxLair "private board" was made news to the public of PaxLair today.  The idea was to host an open council meeting in the City sometime in the near future.  The meeting would:

  • Be open to viewing by the public.
  • Have a pre-set agenda of topics to be discussed by the council.
  • Allow for public concern and comment on the proposed issues to be discussed.
  • Include voting by members of the council, and final decisions made by the mayor.

A date has not yet been set for the meeting however, but should come to light within a week or so.

Official PaxLair Event/Town Promotion Committees Planned

Lord Cross announced plans for a PaxLair Event Committee which would host a specified number of events within PaxLair each month.  The committee will also work to improve town popularity through advertisement and trips to New Haven (Trammel Occlo).

Citizens Stones in PaxLair

A list is being drawn up of the official citizen stones in Paxlair, and a new citizenship process including official ceremonies and citizen scrolls, is in the works!  Currently the count of official PaxLair guilds is:

  • Citizens of PaxLair [Pax]
  • Paladins of Virtue [PV]
  • PaxLair Initiates [PxI]
  • PaxLair Knights [PxK]
  • The Ladies of the Lair [PxL]
  • Kaar Barashalu Orc Clan [Orc]
  • Kaar Barashalu Gruntee Stone [Ork]

Plans for an Item-Enhancing Night

Zog the Fishmonger announced plans for an Item-Enhancing Night to take place in PaxLair sometime soon.  PaxLair is currently looking for donations of ingots, specifically gold, and leather, specifically spined to aid this Item Enhancing night!  The night will allow people to bring their items to be enhanced by blacksmiths and tailors, a true necessity for the best items in this Age of Stuff... err Shadows!  More details of this are to follow soon.

And that concluded this deep and eventful PaxLair weekly meeting!  The meeting ran nearly two hours in length, with more than a dozen large ideas being discussed!  Because of the length of the meeting, no stop was made afterward at the PaxLair Saloon, which will be officially open from now on, after the meetings on Mondays.  The PaxLair weekly meetings are open to everyone in Britannia to attend, and we encourage participation in this vast and complex emulation of a real city!  Thanks to all who attended this week!

Safe journeys my friends.
