As with any meeting in the City of PaxLair, this one got off to a great start with a welcome from Mayor Minsk!  This week's turnout was a little small though.  In attendance were Winmere, Mayor Minsk, Zog, Grimlar, Neo Of Lothlore, Soul Taker, Eve and Luthien, Krysten Elmwood and Kristen.

Poetry Contest in Mythndale

Mayor Minsk announced that Feb. 8th was the last call for entrants to the Valentine's Ball Poetry contest in Mythndale, and that Cross MacLeod of [PV] and Neo Of Lothlore of [Pax] would be the two judges from PaxLair.  The Valentine's Ball is scheduled for Tuesday February 10th 2004 at Eight PM as the eastern stars shine.

Memorial For Lady Douglass Held

A memorial for the late Lady Douglass, sister to Silver Mink was held on Saturday evening near Yew.  Mayor Minsk recapped the events that took place there: several touching speeches, a fireworks display and a bell-ringing in celebration of Lady Douglass' life.  Thanks to Mayor Minsk, the Wizard of Id and Mayor Eve of Mythndale for organizing this memorial.

Luthien Announces Plans for a Mythndale Embassy in PaxLair

Lord Luthien of PaxLair and Mythndale announced that he has plans to open a Mythndale Embassy in PaxLair, near where the old North Tower stood.  An opening ceremony is in the works, complete with events in both towns.  It is tentatively scheduled for March the first.  In the meantime, we should expect to see builders at the new Embassy!

Mayors Minsk and Eve LeRieux Discuss the Founding of Mythndale, and Plans for an Anniversary

The mayors of the Sister-Towns discussed the founding of Mythndale, its tavern, and Lady LeRieux's private residence: Sanctuary.  Plans are also in the works to hold a festival in Mythndale for its Anniversary this spring, with events hopefully in both of the sister towns.

Mayor Minsk Calls for Architects to Finish Their Plans for the New Town Hall, and a Name for the Complex

It was agreed on by both architectural firms (Winmere's and Neo's) to consolidate their ideas into one to produce a new TownHall.  Plans for the Hall include a blacksmith/tailor shoppe, a meeting hall, a mayor's office and a large fountain on the roof.  Mayor Minsk also cried out "No more cold stone!", so if you're fond of cold masonry, go to ice island!  Neo Of Lothlore, with consultation from Winmere and Zog, put forth the idea of naming the new TownHall "Lord Thelorn Town Hall" in honour of one of the founders of PaxLair.  Other names suggested were "Thelorn Hall" and "The Band Hall".  Mayor Minsk decreed that the house would be named "Lord Thelorn Town Hall of PaxLair" upon completion.

Neo Of Lothlore and Zog the Fishmonger Ask for More Slaves... err Adventurers for Thor's Day Night!

Each Thursday Night, at nine PM by the Eastern sky, PaxLair hosts its "Thor's Day Hunt".  Recently the group has been going to Doom, playing with Succubi and hissing back at Meerfolk in Ilshenar, however the hunt's popularity has dropped through lack of advertisement!  Therefore it was made clear that the hunt is open to everyone, and will generate some good old Britannian fun!  Participants are asked to meet outside the Order Tower at Nine PM EST, and the hunt will go from there.

That concluded the weekly city meeting which lasted close to an hour.  Afterward, a few of us went to visit the Kaar Barashalu graveyard near Zog's Outpost in Malas.  To the joy of some and the dismay of others, the evil spirit, The Gatekeeper did not make an appearance this week!  Thanks to all who were in attendance, PaxLair looks forward to seeing you again next week!
