The Old PaxLair Inn was often
hailed as the most humble building in Pax. Free from any blessings, the Inn
gathered a history to itself through the many people who frequented,
cherished and spent numerous hours in it. The Inn was owned by Catherine who
ran the PaxLair Initiates stone with Dark Passion for the longest time.
Catherine was also known to be the cleaner of horse dung, and she always
advised people not to touch the end of her pitchfork... I can see why! The PaxLair Inn was a memorable
place for me and many others. For new citizens it was a place to go safely,
store a few items, and leave the realm safely. I remember many times rushing
back to that Inn while a good dozen or so Lupars chased me. Unfortunately I
don't think I successfully made it up the steps any of those times!
I also remember my dear friend
Fignut the Elder who used to rest [macro] in that house. You would see
"z...Z...Z....z....Z...Z..." coming from his mouth, and for some reason you
would also hear An Mi Sah Ko [just the sound since spirit speak didn't have
words back in those days]. Folks would ask, "What's wrong with Fignut, he's
not answering!" But they just never figured out his great tactic, much to
Fig's benefit!
On January 14th 2004 the Inn fell after some six years of good upkeep. I managed to grab the infamous pitcher of water, guestbook and disguise kit that sat upon the small table near the Inn's west wall. They will be put on display at the New Inn, directly behind the old Inn's spot as a symbol of PaxLair's ongoing history and dedication to the citizens and new folks who visited and still visit the Lair today.
