Weekly Meeting
January 31, 2001

by Winmere, January 31, 2001

CowMaster, one of the members of the Third PaxLair Council led this week's meeting.

Govannon Mac Lyr - I've two things I wished to ask, the first being, what would be the possibility of a report on the proceedings of the meetings each week? Very well... secondly then, what of the Caitiff? Will they be using the tower here? I've heard they are moving over to the other moon.

CowMaster asked Winmere to log the meeting and she agreed. Minsk stated that the Caitiff are doing a quest on the other moon and Illestra, a member of the Caitiff, will inform her of their plans. Winmere said the Caitiff are supposed to inhabit the Chaos Tower, but the plans are moving slowly.

Govannon Mac Lyr - Well, I suppose those were me two questions... although i've also an announcemnt. If none o ye know it, I own the marble tower to the front o the tower here. Once I've 'ad time to work on it twill become Mythndale's ambassodorship tae PaxLair if that is agreeable to the council. Well, I've taken up the circle 'ere long enough.

Those present at the meeting greeted the news of the Mythndale Embassy in PaxLair with cheers and applause. They found it very agreeable.

Don Martin - I have been away for some time. It seems that much has happened. I have missed PaxLair very much. I am so glad to see all of you. You say this is a small meeting. These are the people I wanted to see. Do you still have meetings every week? I hear that there is a 3rd council. You people work too hard. I would like to ask Can I come back to PaxLair?

Don Martin was informed that meetings are still held every Wednesday night at 9pm EST. Everyone present welcomed Don Martin back and Minsk added that all are welcomed here.

Handy Man - Is there actually life here in Pax Lair! The life of my old city ShadowCove hath run dry! Our castle seems to be bear all the time and I have not seen my queen in ages. I came to see if a smith was needed and... I heard there be many women to find in this city.

What of Winfield? The poor man has done so much. I will miss him. A truly great man.

Many assured Handy Man there is still life in PaxLair and a smith would be a very welcome addition to the city. Govannon Mac Lyr said that Shadowcove has moved to Trammel. Handy Man was informed that Mayor Winfield has retired and they would all miss him. A new Mayor will be selected soon. Don Martin asked everyone present to stand in honor of Winfield and all he has done for PaxLair. The cheers were loud enough to wake the dead in the Yew Crypts.

Handy Man - Not many of you know me obviously, but I have noticed a lack of growth in our towns across the land. This upsets me. Our towns should thrive as they did in the past. There must be some way to bring the people back! Now I believe we are all in agreement on this the real question is how? How can we bring people back? What about lowering merchant prices? Or perhaps holding more events? Now I know this sounds good... but will the merchants go for it? You have merchants spread all throughout the town... Would there be anyway to perhaps reorganize the merchants?

Much discussion ensued over these ideas. Some suggested more events and more merchants, since PaxLair was once famed for its merchants. Don Martin asked Handy Man if he would head such a project, but Handy Man declined. Govannon said there will soon be a "general store" merchant in the Mythndale Embassy Center. Govannon also suggested turning Luigi's into a merchants quarters and moving all the vendors there as a central market.

Some wondered if merchants and shopping is really what draws people to visit PaxLair. Don Martin mentioned the old chamber of commerce. Audrey Brooks was concerned that moving her alchemy vendor to Luigi's would negate the need for an Alchemy shop. Govannon suggested that the Alchemy Shop could become a center of learning and experimentation. CowMaster suggested putting runes to all the vendors around PaxLair in Luigi's shop. There was also much discussion on ways to control and circumvent the brigands and general scum of Britannia. Ideas were flying like arrows from a freshly made bow, until CowMaster brought the meeting to a close.
