Mayor Minsk Inaugurated

Submitted by Winmere:

PaxLair celebrated it's four year Anniversary on Saturday, January 19, 2002. Lady Minsk was formally inaugurated as the Mayor of PaxLair at the celebration. A ceremony was held by former Mayor Winfield to welcome Mayor Minsk as the new Mayor of PaxLair! Great names of the past surfaced in the form of Mystarr, Seers Sannio, Magdalena, Tymmorn, mayors of other towns and many others. Contests were held for Warriors and Mages. A tour was conducted to unique places in Felucca. The usual chaos and mayhem reigned outside the towers during this celebration, but there were many defenders keeping them occupied.

The light glinting off Mayor Winfield's sky blue platemail blinded us, as he gave an astoundingly short speech. Winfield said he has known Minsk since she was a young lass, watching her grow in character and maturity. He said he was very impressed with her, and what a great honor it was for him to administer the oath of office to Minsk. After Mayor Minsk took the oath of office, she gave a touching speech about her hopes for the future of PaxLair.

The Paladins of Virtue hosted the Warrior's Contest. Cross MacLeod and Chyna handed out prizes for first through fourth place. 1st Place DarkHawk 2nd Place Ga'kuct 3rd Place Thugamash 4th Place Aragon

Ga'kuct handed his prize over to me. It was a statue and a very substantial check. Ga'kuct informed me that he was donating his prize to the town of PaxLair. I do not think the orc realized that the check represented many, many shinies. PaxLair thanks you Ga'kuct!

I was not present for the Mage Summoning Contest, but I was informed that it was interrupted by the "Mayor's Assassination Contest". I suppose there were no winners of the Mage Summoning Contest due to the Mayor's death. She was hosting that event and after getting herself dressed again, it was time for her ceremony to begin.

A tour of unique places in Felucca was hosted by me. We took a trip down memory lane, as we visited places of history, legend, and lore in Felucca. The Seers added a lot of spice by sharing their stories of what they knew of these places. My hearty thanks to all the Seers! We will never forget you and what you added to our realm!

I saw many familiar faces during the Anniversary. Many came to our aid in keeping the miscreants down below, where they needed to stay. PaxLair salutes you! Thanks to everyone who came to help and share in making this a very special and peaceful Anniversary celebration.
