After three years of PaxLair history from when the first building was placed, and more than two years as the Mayor, I will be resigning on January 19, 2001. January 19th is the 3rd Anniversary of the founding of PaxLair.

I have enjoyed doing many things in PaxLair over the years watching a community of people work together for a variety of purposes. We built a city together, a workable government, and place in the wilderness for many to enjoy.

Now, as twilight is upon me in my days ahead, I must release the reigns of the City to the younger folk. For it is their vision which must be allowed to come to fruition and they must be given the opportunity to lead.

Just as I was chosen to be Mayor during an emergency council session on June 20, 1998, I call upon the 3rd Council of PaxLair now to recommend a new Mayor... a Mayor who will see PaxLair into the future. I hope the 3rd Council may make their recommendation to me before the 3rd Anniversary Celebration on January 19th. If the Council does not, then the City will be without a Mayor until the Council makes a recommendation.

The transition between me and the new Mayor will be brief.

- The new Mayor will be responsible for the information services that PaxLair uses on the ethereal Chessienet service, with the permission of Chessienet of course.

- The housing in PaxLair will remain with me and other caretakers of PaxLair's fine buildings. The new Mayor will need to establish the proper co-ownerships with the caretakers to be able to provide for the people and keep the buildings from decay. The buildings are ultimately the property of the caretakers and the caretakers will ensure the use of the buildings with special items (Mage Tower, Chaos Tower, Alchemist Shop, Luigi's Pizzeria, a small Forge, and the Mayor's Office) does not violate any of the agreements we have made with the gods (Interest Gamemasters) and Seers.

- The new Mayor will need to establish relations with the gods (Interest Gamemasters) through godly-channels for the maintenance and care of unique items in the City of PaxLair. I will aid in this through a letter of introduction to the gods.

- The new Mayor will need to receive fealties on the PaxLair stone (Pax) and control that stone.

I have enjoyed serving the PaxLair community, the many fine people of many cities and towns, the adventurers, questers, and merchants, and hundreds of people I have met in my travels.

My personal future within the realm is uncertain. I carry with me the memories of all we have done together and I will apply all I have learned in my days ahead, wherever I may be. I will still see many of you from time to time. I may wander a bit to think upon the past and plan for my personal future.

To all the people I have touched in some way, you have given me the best experience of my life. I truly thank you for this.
